Apologies that this wasn't up last night. I was under the impression ALL racing was off when the BHA announced that the red weather warning was putting a halt to racing.
It turns out that Carlisle still goes ahead, and the IHRB were fine to let Naas go ahead.
Touching on Tuesday's runner, Jetty May, she simply didn't stay the longer trip. I was concerned the way she was travelling, as she was strong and taking a pull on Liam's arms. She jumped well on chasing debut, but her stamina didn't hold, but wasn't helped by wasting energy.
Della Place 6/1 (0.5pt EW, 2pl) – Naas 6.40
I could easily be overlooking Cameo, who is at the top of the market, but I don't think she's a great horse. She won the Oaks trial at Lingfield, but what did she actually beat? She went to the Oaks at Epsom, and didn't put up a great performance. At Lingfield she beat a few UK horses and Bloom, who is from Aidan's yard. Bloom is a terrible horse, I tipped her up last time out, and she is not good.
With the way that Joseph O'Brien's yard is firing at the moment, it's hard not to give a solid chance to his main runner, Rebel Moon. She wasn't the fancied runner on her debut, but beat Johanna Walsh with relative ease. I think you could say there is value in the 4/1, but with just one run to her name, was it a fluke?
The runner which I liked the look of was George Boughey's runner. George hasn't sent a boat load to Ireland since he got his training licence, but when he has come across, they have either won or run well. I think his runner is being slightly overlooked in this contest. The Racing Post comments say “hard to see her winning at this level”, that could be the case, but I think that is very harsh.
The form of her Listed effort at Goodwood on her penultimate run has been boosted multiple times. The winner was third in the French Oaks, behind one of Aidan's best fillies. The runner-up won at Royal Ascot, beating Johanna Walsh. The fifth-placed horse also finished in a god fourth at Royal Ascot behind the runner-up. I think this looks like one of the best recent form lines to follow, as a lot of them are running extremely well.
It's a shame that there is only two places on offer. Normally in a race like this I would tip a straight win, but with the unknown of Joseph's horse, EW is being advised.
