Whilst Kilmarnock were favourites with most punters to bounce straight back up to the top flight as Championship winners, few, if any would've predicted Arbroath as their title challengers at the start of the season.

34 games later and it effectively boils down to 90 minutes at Rugby Park tonight. Killie lead by a single point and with just two games remaining a win would secure the title and Premiership football once more. A draw would take things to the final day of the season when Killie visit Raith Rovers and Arbroath host Morton, whereas a win for Dick Campbell's part-timers would really put the cat among the pigeons, taking the Red Lichties top of the table by two points and with a superior goal difference.

A near capacity crowd is expected and it'll be a proper nail-biter that should be well worth a watch on BBC Scotland or BBC iPlayer tonight.

The bookies make Derek McInnes side even money favourites to win the three points but it would be crazy to write-off Arbroath at 13/5. Campbell's men have refused to go away this season and even last weekend when they went a goal behind to Queen of the South they bounced back to thump them 5-1 to take advantage of Kilmarnock's slip up the night before.

That defeat up at Inverness would've been a sore one for Killie and it'll be fascinating to see how the nerves hold up tonight. It could be tight affair in line with the three previous meetings this season which have ended 0-0, 1-0 and 1-0, with both wins in Arbroath's favour.

Under 2.5 Goals pays just 4/7 and Under 1.5 goals is 13/8 but you can back Under 2.0 on the Asian Goal line at even money, meaning you get your money back if there's two goals in the game. A goal-less first half also appeals at 6/4.

In the Netherlands FC Twente are finishing the season strongly and could yet catch Feyenoord in third. They should be too strong for 16th place Sparta Rotterdam at 11/20.

Pair them up with top of the table Derry City who host winless UCD in the Irish top flight for a solid looking Double at just over 4/5.

Man Utd get Ten Hag as their new manager, and he is expected to catch Klopp and Guardiola lol they will never learn.Louis Van Gaal didn’t cut it there neither did Mourihno and Neither did Ragnick so this man is expected to do what these other great managers couldn’t.I give him a year tops.it’s almost like appointing Solksaer all over again only difference is he has managed Ajax which is a club that runs itself.Premier League is a different animal.

Looking outside the box, Who would your pick as man utd manager be macca ??.
I’m struggling to come up with a name and I’m a united fan ⚽

    • maccathered 2 years ago

Pochettino would have been a good appointment, did a great job at Spurs and Southampton has a wealth of experience in the premier league and has been to the Champions league final twice.looks like United have given with what the fans want in Ten Hag but he’s taking over a poorly run club which will inevitably ruin his career.Van Gaal couldn’t cut it at United so what chance does Ten Hag have with no experience at this level.Alright managing Ajax which is a two team league.Prem League is the toughest in the league and if they don’t make the champions league what players is a manager like Ten Hag going to attract.it will be difficult enough to attract players as it is even more so if no champs league football.looks doomed before tenure has even started.

Worth keeping an eye on this Icelandic Cup tie later this evening – I think the price for goals are more than generous and wouldn’t be surprised if prices might not tighten prior to KO:

    AFTURELDING VS. VÆNGIR JÚPITERS
    (8.15pm)

It’s 2nd tier versus 4th tier and not only are both sides synonomous with goals in their relative divisions, the last two times that they faced each other ended with a combined 19 match goals!

Not too shabby an average and scorelines of 3-4 and 12-0 in favour of Afturelding may be a few years ago but not much has changed in either sides standing or capacity in that time.

I’ve had a look around for prices and will go for the following:

    OVER 4.5 GOALS
    (11/10, williamhill) NAP ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    OVER 5.5 GOALS
    (5/2, unibet) NB ⭐️⭐️

    OVER 3.5 2ND HALF GOALS
    (10/3, williamhill) LONGSHOT ⭐️

    Best of luck!

Great to see Macca once again giving us a taste of his wealth of footballing knowledge, he states Poch was a huge success at Spurs so lets delve a little deaper in his record at Spurs against the perm lgs elite, in his 27 away games as manager against the top 6 prem lf teams his record reads played 27 Won 3 which is anything but a success and he reason in over the moon United told him to do 1, his over all record in football management also shows that he has won just one single trophy to date the French equivalent of the community shield with PSG, over rated manager with a management cv even worse than Ole, Ten Hag could well be the right man if the United board allow him to do it his way with his coaching staff and only buy the players he wants not throwing money at over inflated egos to sell shirts as they have done in the past, wont be an over night success but given time and his methods i think the sleeping giant could again be about to wake well in a couple of seasons anyway. Sláinte.

    • maccathered 2 years ago

Time will tell,Man Utd caused their own problems when they started paying silly fees for players, they thought they would be pricing the other top clubs in the division out of the market,it backfired big time.Spurs played some great football under Poch and he did that with a very limited budget, took them to a Champions league final knocking Ajax out on the way.

You don’t take macca’s comments on united serious do you sean 🤣

      8
  11. maccathered 2 years ago

So Man Utd did not sign Poch according to Sean on the basis of his record v the elite teams away from home,my god if that’s the case then i will re assess my judgement on Ten Hag.Gonna be some manager who obviously has the nouse to go to the likes of Anfield and Stamford bridge and wipe the floor with them,i stand corrected.wow.

    1
    • sean ireland 2 years ago

Would you want Liverpool to sign someone with a record of 1 community shield and 3 wins from 27 against the top 6 teams?? Liverpool in the 90’s to mid 2000’s may have been tempted but a huge name like United would be aiming a bit higher.

      1
    • maccathered 2 years ago

So Ten Hags higher than Poch..Okay we’ll agree to disagree.

  12. sean ireland 2 years ago

In total agreement with you on the problems at United being caused by the board Macca and they way they have een run with a jobs for the boys mentality that gave them a coaching and scouting staff that is totally inept, im hoping that Ten hag gets a free reign to get rid of them if they are going to do what Rangnick says in his end of season reprt that he was appointed to write and hopefully it will see the end of the likes of Wan Bissaka, Maguire, Mc Tominay, Rasford etc who are simply not Prem lg class when you see that the likes of Martial is on double the wage of a quality player like Salah then you have to ask what the hell were they thinking btw Liverpool to win the champions league for me.

Elvis – Fair enough mate, but I was just saying that Macca tipped Chelsea to win simply as he stated that they wouldn’t want Arsenal to get a Champions League spot etc. Prior to that he tipped Norwich to get something at Pld Trafford.

Fair enough Elvis, I’m just going to follow yours and Hulls tips going forward. No hard feelings, but Macca posts tips with ridiculous reasons most times.

Am I being completely thick here but skybet have Mark Allen +8.5 frames at 11/8 he’s already got 4 and its first to 13 doesn’t that mean he’s already won it 🤷‍♂️

    • slim 2 years ago

Em 4 +8.5 =12.5 so hasnt got to 13 yet, he’s 11/8 to win next frame by looks of it.

    • ChrisBax 2 years ago

Current score is Ronnie O’Sullivan has 12 frames to Mark Allen’s 4.

So, you are getting odds of 11/8 for Mark Allen to win the next frame – otherwise O’Sullivan wins as he gets to 13 frames.

Elvis – What are your thoughts on the Arsenal game tomorrow ?

    • elvis parsley 2 years ago

Don’t bother with British games bud as far as betting is concerned, I find odds are lower than less well known leagues for similar stats regarding goals etc, probably because most money here goes on British games so bookies are more observant when pricing them up.

United are my team but are to be frank rubbish right now, arsenal were on a shit run too before running into a Chelsea team whose defending has gone from immaculate when tuchel took over to shambolic recently.
None of the teams below Chelsea vying for the 4th place are showing the consistency to be confident of anything are they.
I’m hoping for a draw 1-1 or 2-2, probably optimistically but if arsenal turn up with Smith Rowe, eketiah and sacka in the same form as the other night the likes of lindelaugh, and slab head won’t be able to cope.

It’s ironic that last season de gea was seen as past it and fans were calling for Henderson to be no 1, now de gea is one of the few who has played consistently well this season and is 1st name on the team sheet in my book.

  34. Ghapmaster 2 years ago

Elvis – I’m a Man Utd fan myself, but personally I’m fearing the worst. Your right, it all depends on what Man Utd & Arsenal turn up tomorrow so maybe a DRAW is the most possible. I will wait for team news tomorrow and see what’s on the menu from there on.

As always, thanks for your valuable feedback pal, very much appreciated

  35. elvis parsley 2 years ago

Best game to watch tomorrow is in form Brentford v spurs, Ericksen playing against his old side and against the manager who he won the league with in Italy.
Be disappointing if there isn’t goals in that one

Game of the weekend is Liverpool v Everton on Sunday, vital for Liverpool for obvious reasons and if Everton lose Burnley could overtake them if they beat wolves.
Lampards appointment could be as bad as employing ex red benitez if Everton go down.
But as usual the people who make these decisions won’t be held to account, sack the manager and make another idiotic appointment is usually the answer

  36. Ghapmaster 2 years ago

Elvis – So right mate, I’m looking forward to the Brentford game myself. I must say, I do fancy a few cards in this game especially the fact that it has to much riding on it

    Come on MAN UTD
