As for Atletico, they squandered any hope of automatic qualification for the round of 16 when they slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Bodo/Glimt last month.
While Diego Simeone’s men are not typically associated with goal-laden encounters, that has not been the case in this season’s Champions League.
In fact, both teams have found the net in seven of Atletico’s eight continental outings so far.
BTTS also proved the correct call in Club Brugge’s home clashes with Monaco and Barcelona in this competition, so all the signs point towards a repeat in Belgium.
