Wednesday’s Football Tips: Chelsea Are a Bridge Too Far For Brighton

CHELSEA looked back to their old selves on Boxing Day when Romelu Lukaku returned to spearhead thier attack.

The Belgian striker scored within 11 minutes of coming on as a substitute at Villa Park and his return will be most welcome by Thomas Tuchel who has had to make do with an understrengthed squad lately.

The Blues are hanging on to the coattails of Manchester City who look formidable at the halfway stage of the season but they have the chance to leapfrog Liverpool tonight after their 1-0 defeat at Leicester, so each game feels like a must-win for Chelsea at the moment.

Opponents Brighton got a much-needed win on Boxing Day too but they've not beaten Chelsea since 1933 and are 7/1 shots to buck that trend tonight. That'll mostly depend on which Chelsea turn up.
