There are some more exciting second legs to look forward to in the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday, with some ties hanging in the balance and others destined for potential mouth-watering comebacks.
Both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur require comebacks at home after losing the first leg last week, whilst Barcelona’s clash with Newcastle United remains firmly in the balance following their stalemate at St James’ Park last Tuesday.
Bayern are virtually guaranteed a quarter-finals spot following their demolition of Atalanta in Bergamo last week, but goals have been a feature of their matches all season.

Wednesday’s Champions League betting tips and predictions
Barcelona vs Newcastle United (17:45)

Barcelona will welcome Newcastle to the Camp Nou for the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie on Wednesday evening.

Tip 1: Barcelona Win & Lamine Yamal To Score or Assist
Barcelona are too short to side with at the above-mentioned odds but adding in a goal or assist from Lamine Yamal pushes the price up to an appealing 10/11 on bet365.
Tip 2: Lewis Hall To Be Fouled 2+ Times
Lewis Hall looks worth backing to be fouled twice or more during this contest at 5/6 on bet365.
The Newcastle left-back won no fewer than three free-kicks during last week’s first leg at St James' Park.
The case is strengthened further by the fact that Hall was fouled twice away at Chelsea on Saturday evening.
Tip 3: Joelinton To Be Carded
Having already collected 13 yellow cards across 36 appearances this season, Joelinton offers value to have his name again here at 2/1 on bet365.
Bayern Munich vs Atalanta (20:00)

Judging by Champions League history, it should be impossible for Atalanta to overcome the five-goal deficit from the first leg. It is far more likely that Bayern Munich will set another record for goals scored, following last week’s six.

Tip 1: BTTS
Goals are definitely the best bet in this match, and there are plenty of reasons why.
Let’s start with the fact that Bayern Munich have played nine Champions League matches this season, and eight of them featured at least three goals. Add to that the fact that Atalanta have conceded the second-most goals in the tournament out of all remaining sides.
Furthermore, the five-goal lead will allow the Bavarians to play more relaxed, which will likely open up the match for even more goals. For colour, both teams have had BTTS in eight of their last 10 matches.
Tip 2: Over 1.5 goals at HT
Tip 3: Luis Diaz to score or assist
However, we’re going to focus on one of the team’s other new stars – Luis Diaz. The 29-year-old Colombian played one of his weakest matches of the season against Bayer Leverkusen, even though he scored the equalizer.
That doesn’t change the fact that he received a red card, but that’s exactly why we expect him to be highly motivated for the Champions League match. Given that he has eight goals and four assists in his last 10 appearances, one can never be wrong about backing Diaz.
Liverpool vs Galatasaray (20:00)

Liverpool will look to overturn a one-goal deficit as they welcome Turkish champions Galatasaray to Anfield on Wednesday night in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Tip 1: Dominik Szoboszlai to Score or Assist
Dominik Szoboszlai looked as if he was going to be the match-winner for Liverpool on Sunday, as he scored one of his trademark free-kicks against Spurs before Richarlison’s late strike cancelled that out.
The Hungarian international has been terrific in form in Europe this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists across his eight appearances in Europe this season – providing a goal contribution in seven of those matches – and the 4/5 on offer at bet365 for him to Score or Assist at Anfield on Wednesday night appeals to me.
Tip 2: Liverpool to Win & Under 4.5 Goals
Finding value is tough given how short a price Arne Slot’s men are, but a Liverpool Win & Under 4.5 Goals pays 19/20 at Coral/Ladbrokes, which appeals.
Tip 3: Mario Lemina To Be Shown A Card
The match-winner in the first leg, Mario Lemina, has been booked in six of his last 11 appearances for Galatasaray – as well as in the first meeting between these sides back in September – and is 6/4 at bet365 to be carded again on Wednesday.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Atletico Madrid (20:00)

Tottenham host Atletico Madrid at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night in the Champions League round of 16 second leg with the Spanish side holding a commanding lead after the 5-2 victory in the first meeting.

Tip 1: Both teams to score & over 2.5 goals
The statistical profile of the first leg between these two sides points towards another match featuring goals at both ends which supports the angle of both teams to score and over 2.5 goals.
The opening match in Madrid produced a high volume of quality chances. Atletico generated 2.59 xG while Tottenham produced 1.99 xG which created a combined 4.58 expected goals across the contest.
With both teams already producing multiple big chances and a high combined xG total in the first meeting, the numbers support another open contest featuring both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals.
Tip 2: Both teams to score & both teams to be carded
The game state heading into the second leg also encourages attacking play. Tottenham must chase the deficit after the 5-2 defeat which should force them to commit players forward.
