5 vs 5 Predictions

5 vs 5 Matchroom vs Queensberry – Event Background

This Saturday night will witness a clash of titans in the boxing world. Promoters Frank Warren of Queensberry and Eddie Hearn of Matchroom go toe-to-toe in a unique event held in Riyadh. Each has selected five fighters from their stables to battle it out in a thrilling affair.

The duo have left their intense rivalry behind to work together and treat boxing fans with such an incredible event.

This showdown serves as the undercard for the highly anticipated undisputed light-heavyweight championship clash between Russians Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol, taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In his 5 vs 5 predictions, Hearn boldly claimed that he foresees a 5-0 win for Team Queensberry. Is that actually going to be the case? We were a bit more level-headed in our Matchroom vs Queensberry analysis.

5 vs 5 Predictions Overview

Match Result Odds (via Bet365)

Zhilei Zhang (Queensberry) vs. Deontay Wilder (Matchroom)

Zhang (Queensberry) to win

8/13 (1.61)

Filip Hrgovic (Matchroom) vs. Daniel Dubois (Queensberry)

Hrgovic (Matchroom) to win

2/5 (1.40)

Hamzah Sheeraz (Queensberry) vs. Austin Williams (Matchroom)

Sheeraz (Queensberry) to win

1/2 (1.50)

Raymond Ford (Matchroom) vs. Nick Ball (Queensberry)

Ball (Queensberry) to win

13/10 (2.30)

Craig Richards (Matchroom) vs. Willy Hutchinson (Queensberry)

Richards (Matchroom) to win

4/7 (1.57)

While we didn’t go with Hearn’s outrageous 5 vs 5 predictions, we believe Queensberry has the better chance to win the series as well. We expect Queensberry fighters to emerge victorious in three of the five bouts. Filip Hrgovic and Craig Richards might win their respective fights, but it might not be enough to take the lead against Queensberry.

Zhilei Zhang (Queensberry) vs Deontay Wilder (Matchroom)

Zhilei Zhang vs Deontay Wilder will be headliner of this event. Both boxers have similar profiles, so this one would be incredibly difficult to call. That said, we have a hunch that Zhang will win this one, since he has been fighting more regularly and appears to be in better form.

Filip Hrgovic (Matchroom) vs Daniel Dubois (Queensberry)

Filip Hrgovic will put his undefeated record on the line when he takes on Daniel Dubois. There is no title involved, but the outcome of this fight might have significant implications in both fighter’s world championship aspirations. Hrgovic is the more technically gifted between the two fighters, and it might help him in grinding out a victory here.

Hamzah Sheeraz (Queensberry) vs Austin Williams (Matchroom)

At 24 years old, East London's Hamzah Sheeraz is a rising star in the middleweight division. This fight presents a golden opportunity for him to make an international statement and garner recognition beyond the UK. Austin Williams from Texas is also an exciting fighter with immense potential, but we believe Hamzah is the clear favourite in this bout.

Raymond Ford (Matchroom) vs Nick Ball (Queensberry)

Raymond Ford should be the favourite in this matchup, given he is the current WBA featherweight champion. We have our money on Nick Ball, however, who would consider himself unlucky to share the spoils with WBC champion Rey Vargas in his last outing. This is a close call, but we think Ball will nick a close victory to snatch the WBA belt away from Ford.

Craig Richards (Matchroom) vs Willy Hutchinson (Queensberry)

Craig Richards vs Wily Hutchinson will be the final serving on the 5 vs 5 menu. Hutchinson has registered four successive knockout wins since stepping up to the light heavyweight division, but Richards should be able to get the better of him with years of experience under his belt.
