Almost an entire round of La Liga fixtures has been played in the shadow of the opening Europa League round, and two more attractive fixtures remain on Thursday that you won't want to miss.

High-flying Real Betis can return to the top of the table if they beat the inconsistent Getafe. Meanwhile, Malaga and Villarreal will face off in a battle to escape the relegation zone.

Below, you’ll find our expert tips and predictions for each of Wednesday’s La Liga matches.

Today’s La Liga betting tips & predictions

Real Betis vs. Getafe (6pm)

Manuel Pellegrini will have to start making more significant rotations given the increasingly busy schedule, but Real Betis can rest easy given that they have not lost a La Liga home game in 2026.

The most important thing for Getafe is that they have qualified for the Conference League, but sooner or later they will have to start picking up wins in La Liga as well. So far, they have just one win from five matches, and the main problem is clearly scoring goals, as their defence is far from being among the weakest in the league.

Unfortunately for them, it’s hard to see them winning against Real Betis, who beat Real Madrid in their last home game. They’ll slip up at some point, but for now they look flawless at home.

Malaga vs. Villarreal (8:30pm)

Perhaps it was to be expected that Málaga would get off to a slow start, but no one expected Villarreal to be stuck in their wake and winless after five matches, especially given that they finished third last season and are playing in the Champions League.

Something needs to change quickly at both clubs, but this run of form is certainly more embarrassing for the visitors. They have conceded two goals in five of their six matches across all competitions. They indeed do score goals, and in that respect they are far more capable than the home side.

Nevertheless, they’re sure to struggle against Malaga, who at least look somewhat solid at home, having suffered just one home defeat in 2026. To start with, I’m going for Both Teams to Score, but I’d also be willing to take a chance on a draw.
