Thursday Football Tips: On-Song Celts to Strike the Right Note

Thursday night could shape the season for four Scottish clubs who head in to European action, all with their eyes firmly focused on reaching the group stages.

St Johnstone have the saftey net of the Europa Conference League should they fail to get past Galatasaray in the Europa League. But the double-cup winners may not need it!

Callum Davidson's men were deserving of their 1-1 in Turkey last week and shouldn't have any fears ahead of the visit of the Süper Lig side. The Saintees are 16/5 to win inside the 90 minutes or 13/8 to qualify. On the Double Chance market the Perth side are 5/6.

St Johnstone can be a tough team to break down and don't score too many at the other end so Under 2.5 Goals appeals but it's been priced up accordingly at 7/10.

Celtic Park should be rocking for the Hoops' return leg against FK Jablonec. 60,000 fans will fill Paradise for the first time in 18 months and it should be an enjoyable night for the Parkhead faithful.

A week is a long time in football and all of a sudden the clouds are lifting for Ange Postecoglou. A couple of experienced players in, two good wins, 10 goals scored and the emergence of a new hero in green and white in the shape of Kyogo Furuhashi who notched an eye-catching hat-trick on his home debut on Sunday, has the Celtic fans in optimistic mood.

Despite scoring twice last week, opponent FK Jablonec didn't impress too much and even their manager has doubts that they'll handle the atmosphere in the east-end of Glasgow. At 1/3, Celtic should be solid Acca material and even -1 on the Handicap at 10/11 should land.

But the best bet looks to be the 11/10 on the Bhoys to score 3+ Goals at 5/4 with Skybet.

Aberdeen should keep their good start to the season going by completing the job against Breidablik at Pittodrie. The Dons are 3-2 up from the first leg and rested several players from the starting XI in their 2-1 over Livi at the weekend. You won't get rich at 3/10 but again they look reasonably safe Acca contenders.

Hibs look up against it in their tie with HNK Rijeka. The Hibees could only manage a 1-1 draw with the Croatians at Easter Road last week so need to record an away win to progress, or force a penalty shoot-out. Rijeka are even money to win in the 90 and that looks generous given the home advantage.
