Tennis Prediction and Betting Tips 2024

This Sunday brings a couple of very interesting ATP matches in China. We’ve found some really good value for you, so read on for our best tennis tips for Sunday, September 22nd.

Both matches are from Chengdu, and both are quarter-finals where we’re going to back the favourites to win.

Best tennis tips and predictions today

In the first one, we’re going to take Nicolas Jarry to beat Alibek Kachmazov simply because we think he’s the far better player.

In the second, we’ll back Yannick Hanfmann to defeat Pedro Martinez for the third time in his career, securing a somewhat rare semi-final for himself.

Jarry to defeat Kachmazov @ 4/6

This bet is a rather simple one in the sense that we’re backing the player we think is far better. Nicolas Jarry might play his best tennis on clay, but he can play well on hard courts too.

Playing well in China is certainly not unusual for him either, as he had some good results there, especially last year.

The main reason we’re backing him, though, is the conditions in Chengdu, which favour big servers like him. The city is fairly high up at around 500 meters, which makes the balls fly quicker through the thinner air.

That, along with his massive forehand, should be enough to defeat a player who hasn’t often been in this position. Kachmazov will grow to be a solid ATP player, but in this spot, we simply favour Jarry as he’s the better player, and the odds are pretty juicy.

As always, surprises can happen, but we trust the veteran to get this done and get back to winning ways.

Hanfmann to defeat Martinez @ 5/6

This is a bit of a risky pick because there are some things in this matchup that you should be careful about. Hanfmann is a superb player on his best day, but he’s prone to self-destruction.

Martinez is a very stubborn player who doesn’t give up on rallies or matches. He will frustrate the German a good amount, and how the German deals with that remains to be seen.

We’re backing him again because of the conditions. He’s the better server with a solid baseline game to back it up.

If he’s aggressive enough and plays at a decent level, he should win the match. Martinez can be beaten from the baseline, and he’s been beaten twice by Hanfmann before.

That head-to-head record is another reason why we’re backing Hanfmann to win, because the last time they played was in Santiago last year, and the German won 6-2, 6-0.
