It's derby day on both sides of the border today as the giants of Manchester and Glasgow collide in two blockbuster games.

First up is an Old Firm showdown at Ibrox, with Rangers and Celtic battling it out for a place in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup.

And that's followed by a Premier League shoot-out at Old Trafford as Manchester United look to inflict a first competitive defeat on new Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca.

Rangers vs Celtic top betting tips

New Rangers boss Derek McInnes got off to an awful start, with his side dropping five Premiership points while they crashed out of the Europa and Conference League qualifiers.

But he has since steadied the ship and Rangers head into the derby off the back of four consecutive wins, keeping clean sheets in three of those matches.

Next up is a double-header with bitter rivals Celtic in cup and league, two games that will go a long way to defining McInnes' debut season in the Ibrox dugout.

Celtic have a perfect domestic record so far but their defensive shortcomings were laid bare in a horrific 5-1 Champions League qualifying loss away to LASK.

No Hoops fans will be inside Ibrox and that could just give Rangers the edge, with their last two home derbies ending in draws.

Bet365 price both sides at 10/11 to qualify, with a win inside 90 minutes boosting that price to 31/20.

The atmosphere will be red hot and Rangers fans will be screaming for cards every time the Hoops dive into a tackle. So I like the 6/5 on offer at Bet365 for Celtic to pick up the most cards.

Manchester United vs Manchester City

Enzo Maresca has made an encouraging start since replacing Pep Guardiola at Manchester City but now faces the acid test as he heads across town to Old Trafford.

It looked like the Italian had a tough task on his hands when City slumped to a 3-0 loss against champions Arsenal in the Community Shield.

But Maresca has since guided them to four successive victories, including a 2-0 triumph away to Porto in their Champions League opener.

Manchester United also claimed a victory at Europe's top table in midweek, easing past minnows Sabah in a 4-0 Old Trafford win.

That made it three unbeaten since a shock loss to Hull City so it's a tricky derby to call with both sides in decent form.

Bet365 make City their 11/10 favourites but they've only claimed one victory in their four visits to Old Trafford.

I'm steering clear of backing a winner and going for some player bets instead. Manchester City new boy Enzo Fernandez often gets too caught up in the drama of big games and looks good at 3/1 for a card.

We should see chances at both ends in this one and combining over 2.5 saves for both Senne Lammens and Gianluigi Donnarumma pays a decent 27/20.

Coventry City vs Brighton and Hove Albion

The other Premier League game today sees Coventry City go in search of their first Premier League point and goal at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Coventry have lost their first three games to nil after winning promotion but Frank Lampard won't be panicking, given two of those matches were away to Arsenal and Manchester City.

The biggest disappointment was a 1-0 home loss to fellow new boys Hull so Coventry will be desperate to bounce back when Brighton come calling.

It has been a mixed bag for the Seagulls so far, with a win, a draw and a defeat, but we've seen plenty of goals at both ends with Fabian Hurzeler's side.

So I'm going to combine BTTS and over 2.5 strikes for this one, which pays a decent 21/20 with Bet365.

Super Singles

  • Celtic most cards 6/5 Bet365
  • Enzo Fernandez to be carded 3/1 Bet365
  • BTTS and over 2.5 goals in Coventry City vs Brighton and Hove Albion 21/20 Bet365
