Sundays top tips

There's a massive game in the SPFL Premiership title race today as leaders Hearts look to strike another blow by taking down Rangers at Tynecastle.

The Jambos have already beaten Gers at Ibrox this season as well as claiming home and away victories over Celtic.

So fans will start dreaming of a first title since 1960 if they can do another Glasgow double and move 12 points clear of Danny Rohl's men.

Heart of Midlothian vs Rangers top betting tips

It has been a mixed bag for Rohl since he took charge, with results picking up in the Premiership but Gers continuing to flop in Europe and suffering a League Cup semi-final loss to Celtic.

A win in the capital today would cut the gap on Hearts to just six points, with Rangers still having a game in hand, but the bookies make Rohl's men 5/2 outsiders.

Derek McInnes' side are 11/10 with most firms to come out on top and that seems fair enough with Rohl still missing key players in defence.

But Rangers have twice ground out 1-0 wins over Hibs this season and that suggests they could give the leaders a hard time. This might be a tight one so I fancy under 2.5 goals at 10/11 at Bet365.

The midfield battle should be tasty and combining cards for Connor Barron and Cammy Devlin pays 12/1 with William Hill.

Celtic vs Aberdeen

Celtic were in charge of the title race when Wilfried Nancy took charge, having moved level on points with Hearts under interim boss Martin O'Neill while having a game in hand.

But the Frenchman lost at home to the Jambos in his first match and his decision to implement a totally new style of play has sent the Hoops into freefall.

Nancy has lost all four of his games so far and it's hard to see him surviving if the champions slip up again at home to Aberdeen today.

The good news for him is the Dons are coming off the back of a European defeat in Prague on Thursday night and have a dismal record against the Hoops.

They haven't beaten Celtic inside 90 minutes for 32 games so you can understand why Betfred have Aberdeen as 8/1 outsiders today.

The Hoops have been so disorganised under Nancy that plenty of punters will have a nibble at that price and the Dons could offer some value in the double chance at 23/10 with Paddy Power.

It's never dull with Nancy's adventurous tactics so we should see goals at both ends. I like the 6/5 on offer at Betfred for over 1.5 first-half strikes.

Aston Villa vs Manchester United

There's only one game in the Premier League today but it should be a cracker as Aston Villa look to keep up their red-hot form at home to Manchester United.

Few times in Europe are in better shape than Villa right now, with Unai Emery's men looking to make it 10 successive wins in all competitions.

United's form is also decent, with just one defeat in their last 10, but the 4-4 thriller with Bournemouth last Monday summed up their season.

Ruben Amorim's men looked brilliant at times but were also exposed defensively and would have ended up losing had Senne Lammens not made two late saves.

Villa's incredible winning run has to end at some point but they still look good value today at 23/20 with Betfred, given United are missing Bryan Mbuemo and Amad Diallo.

Amorim will rely on Matheus Cunha even more for inspiration today and the Brazilian is a tempting 3/1 at Unibet to have over 1.5 efforts on target.

Super singles

  • Over 1.5 first-half goals in Celtic vs Aberdeen 6/5 Betfred
  • Aston Villa to win 23/20 Betfred
  • Matheus Cunha over 1.5 shots on target 3/1 Unibet

Long shot

  • Cammy Devlin and Connor Barron to be carded 12/1 William Hill

    Aston Villa v Man Utd
Aston Villa to win at 11/10

Surprising odds given Villa have won 9 games in a row. Man Utd missing 3 key players due to Afcon so will be light in attack.
    Best of luck

Don’t think Michael Oliver would red card a player even if he took a machete to someone. He’s the worst for card bets. I always check the ref now before doing any card bets
