I was short on time on Friday, so I offered Cairnzy to do the Lucky 15, and he kindly accepted.
Cairnzy walked away with two winners in the form of Impose Toi and Iroko.
I didn't manage to catch Iroko's race, but he has always been a useful horse, so it's nice to see him getting another win.
Impose Toi was impressive. I tipped him up a few weeks ago and deserted him yesterday. It was a classy performance, and he has what you need to be a top stayer: gears, cruising speed and staying power.
Silk Mountain 12/1 – Lingfield 12.30
Whenever there is a bumper race on the all-weather, we get to see some of the flat trainers chancing their arm. We have David Evans and Ed de Giles with runners in the opener at Lingfield.
I think David Evans and Jamie Snowden are the ones to beat on form and stable form, but I'm happy to chance Silk Mountain on debut.
Jim & Suzi Best have had four runners in bumpers this year, winning two. Considering they were 0/24 in previous years, it shows a great level of improvement and recruitment of their younger horses.
He has a solid pedigree for this type of race, having horses like Castlegrace Paddy in the pedigree.
Oh Clare 5/2 – Lingfield 1.30
Once again, on form Sea Presenting deserves to be favourite and might be a tough nut to crack. However, I think we're seeing a small resurgence from the Jonjo O'Neill yard, so I wanted to give a chance to Oh Clare.
This mare of Walk In The Park has shown glimpses of form from her bumper and hurdle runs. She made an okay return to finish second at Carlisle last time out, and with a couple more furlongs to travel in today's race, I hope that is enough to unlock her potential.
Jeu d'Opale 10/3 – Lingfield 2.30
Another yard that is starting to get winners is the Venetia Williams stable.
Whenever this yard starts to find winners at the beginning of the season, they rarely look back, and will continue to ping them in for months.
This runner is interesting, as we've only seen him over hurdles since moving over from France. However, he won over fences in France, so we know he can jump a fence.
He returned with a run over 3m, but is now dropping back to 2m. That would be enough to put people off, but he won over fences in a 2m 2f race, so he does have the speed.
No Tackle 3/1 – Lingfield 3.00
I tipped up a horse in No Tackle's race, and I thought this lad was very impressive for a trainer who doesn't get enough credit.
This is a tougher race, and he has gone up in the handicap, but we know he likes the track and is in tremendous form.
I don't think there are many negatives associated with No Tackle, so he gets the vote.
