The big shock in La Liga came on Friday, when Real Betis beat Real Madrid. This presents an exceptional opportunity for Barcelona to pull clear at the top with a win over Valencia.
This is also the first match on Sunday’s La Liga fixture list. In addition, there are three more highly entertaining fixtures that are set to cause even more significant shifts in the table.

Today’s La Liga betting tips & predictions
Valencia vs. Barcelona (3:15pm)
We all know what the expectations are for this clash, especially now that Valencia have started the season without a win after their first three matches.
Barcelona, on the other hand, have scored 12 goals in their first three matches, dominating every opponent. To be fair, Valencia won this very fixture last season 3–1, but the three previous meetings before that ended in resounding victories for Barcelona: 6–0, 5–0 and 7–1.
Unfortunately, I expect a similarly crushing victory to happen again, although I’m anticipating a result in the region of 3–1 or 4–1 in favour of the visitors.

Alaves vs. Osasuna (5:30pm)
Alaves and Osasuna have made a perfect start to the season by their standards, being two of only four teams yet to lose.
Both teams have been impressive defensively, whilst also scoring the odd goal. However, I expect to see action at both ends here, with a place in the top four at stake.
Three of the last four matches between the two sides have ended in draws with goals at both ends. The fourth was a 3-0 win for Osasuna last season.

Malaga vs. Levante (5:30pm)
Malaga are still without a win after three matches, and the bigger problem is that they have scored just one goal so far. Levante were in a similar situation until their last match, when they recorded a shock 5–2 victory over Real Betis.
These are two sides who know each other very well from their time in La Liga 2 over the last few seasons, with Levante unbeaten in their last six meetings.
In my view, they are currently the better of the two sides, and they also have more recent experience in La Liga. Malaga are the bookmakers’ favourites, which I believe is a mistake, and we’ll be backing the double chance of a draw or a win for the visitors.

Espanyol vs. Sevilla (8pm)
Espanyol and Sevilla’s matches so far have been among the most exciting in La Liga, and I believe their upcoming clash is one of the best options for betting on goals this Sunday.
Espanyol won 3–0 against Levante, but then suffered back-to-back 2–1 defeats against Real Madrid and Real Sociedad. Sevilla lost 3–1 to Atletico Madrid, but prior to that they had dominated against Athletic Bilbao and Rayo Vallecano.
Four of the last five head-to-head matches have seen goals scored by both sides. This is also my main prediction for this week’s final La Liga clash.
