Sunday’s Bundesliga slate delivers a trio of compelling fixtures, headlined by one of the Rhine derbies between FC Koln and Bayer Leverkusen.
Later in the day, Freiburg look to maintain their European push against a struggling Union Berlin side, while Hoffenheim host Schalke 04 in a crucial clash that promises action.

Today’s Bundesliga betting tips & predictions
FC Koln vs. Bayer Leverkusen (2:30pm)
FC Koln welcome Bayer Leverkusen, hoping to improve their poor recent record in this local derby by capitalising on the visitors’ recent dip in form.
While Leverkusen sit higher in the table, they arrive on the back of two consecutive league defeats and are suddenly looking vulnerable, having conceded seven goals in their last two Bundesliga games.
Recent history still favours Leverkusen, who have traditionally enjoyed the upper hand against FC Koln. However, the hosts remain undefeated at home this season, and I am very inclined to expect a goal-packed draw.

Freiburg vs. Union Berlin (4:30pm)
Freiburg sit firmly in the race for European qualification and boast a very strong home record this season, with six dominant wins and one loss to Bayern Munich.
Union Berlin have been in miserable form on their travels, scoring just one away goal in the Bundesliga in three matches, while conceding 12.
Considering that Freiburg are one of the strongest home sides in Europe right now, I believe a win to nil to be highly logical.

Hoffenheim vs. Schalke (6:30pm)
Hoffenheim have been highly inconsistent recently, pairing impressive home wins with frustrating defeats due to a notoriously leaky defence.
Schalke arrive hoping to secure vital away points but have another problem – they are the lowest-scoring team in the league with just four goals in eight rounds.
Even worse – they haven’t scored in four consecutive matches in all competitions. With this in mind, it makes full sense to back Hoffenheim to claim the points here, despite their inconsistent performances.
