SlipsTips shares a player-based selection ahead of Inter Milan and Napoli’s clash in Serie A on Sunday night.
Inter vs Napoli (Sunday, 19:45)
The standout fixture in Serie A this weekend will see title-chasing duo Inter Milan and Napoli square off at the San Siro on Sunday night.
Christian Chivu’s hosts will start the weekend sitting top of the table after winning each of their last six matches, the most recent being a 2-0 win away at Parma on Wednesday night.
As for Napoli, they lost ground in the title race after being held to a surprise 2-2 draw at home to Verona last time out.
Inter come into this clash as firm 8/11 favourites with most bookmakers, but I think there is better value to be found in the player props markets.
Team news permitting, Marcus Thuram looks well worthy of support to be fouled on at least two occasions on Sunday night at 5/6 with Sky Bet.
The Inter Milan forward is well known for being a handful for opposition defences and this season has been no different.
In fact, Thuram has drawn an average of 2.25 fouls per game in the Italian top flight this term, being brought down at least once in all but two of his 13 appearances to date.
Moreover, the Frenchman has been fouled on multiple occasions in five of his seven Serie A outings at home this season, including each of the last four.
On top pf that, Thuram has been upended in two of the three matches he has started in this season’s Champions League, including last month’s home game with Liverpool.
Now set to come up against a Napoli side that can ill-afford a defeat at the San Siro on Sunday night, Thuram looks well placed to earn his side a minimum of two free-kicks.
The case is further strengthened by the fact that Thuram could find himself in direct battle with Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
The Italian defender has been guilty of multiple offences in five of Napoli’s previous seven away games in Serie A.
