SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of Newcastle's clash with West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Newcastle vs West Ham (Sunday, 17:30)
The final fixture from what is a bumper Premier League card on Sunday sees Newcastle square off against West Ham at St James’ Park.
The 13th-place hosts looked set to claim back-to-back wins in the top-flight last weekend before conceding a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest.
As for West Ham, their Premier League survival hopes suffered a gut-wrenching blow after a 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal last weekend.
That said, the Hammers could lift themselves out of the drop zone with a win on Sunday.
However, I’m going to steer clear of the 1×2 market once again, and instead opt for a player-based selection that stands out.
Sven Botman has been priced up at 4/5 with bet365 to be fouled at least once, and that looks terrific value.
The Newcastle defender has been highly effective at drawing fouls this season, something that has perhaps flown under the radar.
That is reflected in the numbers, with the Dutchman earning an average of 0.98 fouls per game in the Premier League this season.
That tendency was particularly evident in last week’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, where Botman was brought down on no fewer than four occasions.
That was no one-off, with the Newcastle centre-half fouled in each of his three Premier League starts prior to last weekend and upended three times in a recent home fixture against Sunderland.
With Botman likely to be in a direct battle with West Ham’s Taty Castellanos on Sunday evening, there is plenty of scope for him to be fouled at least once again.
The Hammers forward leads the line with plenty of intensity and physicality, which is reflected in the fact he has averaged 1.69 fouls per 90 since arriving at the London Stadium during the January transfer window.
