SlipsTips shares a Bet Builder ahead of Arsenal's Premier League showdown with Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
Arsenal vs Aston Villa (Tuesday, 20:15)
The standout fixture from the midweek Premier League slate will see Arsenal entertain Aston Villa at the Emirates on Tuesday night.
The Gunners returned to the summit of the standings by edging out Brighton 2-1 on Saturday.
As for Aston Villa, they are just three points behind Arsenal after extending their winning run to eight matches with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.
Over 0 Arsenal Goals
I’m going to get the Bet Builder underway by backing Arsenal to score a minimum of one goal in this top-of-the-table clash. Mikel Arteta’s men have found the net in 17 of their opening 18 Premier League games of the season, including each of their nine outings in front of their own supporters.
Aston Villa may be enjoying a remarkable run of form, but they remain far from watertight at the back. In fact, Unai Emery’s side has kept just one clean sheet in their nine top-flight fixtures away from Villa Park this term, with that solitary shutout coming against Everton back in September.
It’s also worth noting that Arsenal scored in this season’s reverse fixture earlier this month.
Ian Maatsen To Commit 1+ Foul
For the first of two player-based selections, I’m backing Ian Maatsen to commit at least one foul. The Aston Villa left-back has overstepped the mark in five of his last seven Premier League appearances, including each of his last two.
Moreover, Maatsen was also guilty of two offences when Villa defeated Arsenal 2-1 at Villa Park at the beginning of December. With the Dutchman likely to be locked in a direct battle with Bukayo Saka on Tuesday night, he looks a prime candidate to fall foul of the referee once or more during this contest.
Bukayo Saka To Be Fouled Once or More
With Maatsen likely tasked with keeping tabs on the aforementioned Saka, it makes sense to back the Arsenal talisman to be fouled at least once during this showdown.
Saka is well known for being a foul magnet, and this season has been no exception. The 24-year-old is drawing an average of 2.40 fouls per game in the Premier League, being brought down once or more in 12 of his 16 top-flight appearances, earning his side multiple free kicks when he last faced Villa a few weeks ago.
Together, the above-mentioned selections offer a value 4/5 shot with bet365.
