Hamilton vs Kelty Hearts (Saturday, 15:00)

A pivotal clash in the Scottish League One relegation battle takes place on Saturday afternoon, as Hamilton Academical host Kelty Hearts.

The two sides head into the weekend occupying the bottom two spots in the table, with Hamilton sitting 9th on 25 points and Kelty rooted to the foot with 19.

The hosts were left disappointed last weekend after throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with fellow strugglers Cove Rangers, while Kelty Hearts suffered a 2-0 defeat away to title-chasing Stenhousemuir.

The pre-match odds suggest the Fife outfit could be set for another defeat this weekend, with Hamilton heading into this crunch clash as firm favourites at around 5/6 with most firms.

While I expect Accies to get the job done on Saturday afternoon, the value could lie in the anytime goalscorer market.

Oli Shaw can be backed at 6/5 with McBookie to score at anytime in this relegation six-pointer, and that price looks particularly enticing.

The Hamilton hitman is the Scottish League One top scorer this season, having netted 16 goals in 27 appearances.

Two of those strikes have come in his last three outings, and Shaw will be confident of adding to his tally against bottom side Kelty Hearts this weekend.

Thomas O’Ware’s side have failed to keep a clean sheet in 26 of their 30 Scottish League One matches this season, including 13 of their 15 away fixtures.

Moreover, Shaw has proven to be a thorn in Kelty’s side this season, scoring three of his 16 league goals in meetings between the two teams.

In fact, the Accies attacker bagged a brace in Hamilton’s 3-1 win over Kelty Hearts when they last visited Broadwood earlier in the season.

Given their precarious position, the visitors must go all out for a win, which should provide Shaw with plenty of opportunities to boost his goal tally on Saturday.
