SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of Kilmarnock's clash with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
Kilmarnock vs Celtic (Sunday, 14:00)
More twists and turns are guaranteed in the Scottish Premiership title race on Sunday, with the first of the day’s double-header seeing Kilmarnock host Celtic at Rugby Park.
Celtic begin the day in third place, but they’ll know that if they take care of business here, the pressure will shift firmly onto Rangers and Hearts ahead of their blockbuster showdown at Ibrox in Sunday’s headline clash.
Martin O'Neill’s men arrive on the back of a last-gasp 2-1 victory over Livingston, while Kilmarnock have shown signs of life in their battle for survival, most recently edging out St Mirren 4-3.
As expected, it is Celtic who head into Sunday as heavy favourites, with an away win trading at a general 2/5 with most bookmakers.
However, rather than side with the obvious, I am turning to the player shots market, where I think there is a worthwhile angle to exploit.
Julian Araujo can be backed at 17/20 with Coral or Ladbrokes to register at least one shot at Rugby Park on Sunday – and that price looks more than fair.
The Mexican has made an immediate impression since arriving on loan from Bournemouth last month, with his willingness to pull the trigger particularly eye-catching.
In fact, Araujo has averaged a sizeable 1.47 shots per game across his six Scottish Premiership appearances to date.
Across his last two league outings, the Hoops’ right-back has racked up a combined total of three attempts – including two shots in a recent fixture with Falkirk.
Now set to come up against a leaky Kilmarnock side that is conceding an average of 15.12 shots per game in the top-flight this term, there is plenty of scope for that trend to continue.
With all of that in mind, the 17/20 quote for Araujo to get at least one effort off in this contest looks like a value selection.
