Eddie Howe is expected to play midfielder-by-trade Miley as a makeshift right-back for this Old Trafford clash.
The 19-year-old took on the role against Chelsea last weekend, a game in which he committed two fouls.
With Miley set to fill in at right-back again on Boxing Day, he could find himself in direct opposition to foul magnet Matheus Cunha.
The Red Devils forward usually plays as a left-sided number 10 and has a knack for drawing free-kicks with his all-action style.
In fact, the Brazil international has drawn an average of 2.10 fouls per game in this season’s Premier League.
A closer look shows that Cunha has been brought down at least once in 12 of his 14 top-flight appearances this season, including each of his last five outings at Old Trafford.
