After delivering another winner on Wednesday night, SlipsTips shares a player-based selection ahead of Chelsea's clash with West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Chelsea vs West Ham (Saturday, 17:30)
Both coming off a run of positive results, Chelsea and West Ham will square off at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Liam Rosenior has guided Chelsea to back-to-back league victories over Brentford and Crystal Palace, while also overseeing an eye-catching 3–2 win away at Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
West Ham, meanwhile, have breathed much-needed life into their Premier League survival bid, following up an impressive win away at Tottenham with a home success over Sunderland last Saturday.
Unsurprisingly, the Blues are priced up as heavy favourites, with a home win trading at odds-on quotes of around 1/2 with most bookmakers.
As I often do, though, I’m instead turning my attention to the player fouls markets, where I’ve identified a selection that looks particularly appealing.
Available at even-money (1/1) with Sky Bet, Jarrod Bowen looks well worth backing to be fouled at least twice in this all-London affair.
The West Ham skipper has long had a knack for drawing fouls from the opposition, and that trend has continued this season.
In Premier League action, Bowen has been drawing a sizeable average of 1.57 fouls per game this term.
However, since Nuno Espírito Santo has made a slight tactical tweak in recent weeks, there’s been a noticeable uptick in the number of fouls Bowen has been winning for his side.
The England international was brought down on three occasions in West Ham’s most recent away trip to Tottenham, before being fouled four times during last week’s 3–1 win over Sunderland.
That pattern extends further back too, with Bowen winning two or more fouls in relatively recent away games against Bournemouth, Brighton and Manchester United, drawing a combined total of 11 fouls across those three matches.
The case becomes even stronger when factoring in Bowen’s likely direct battle with Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella, who has committed multiple fouls in six of his last nine Premier League appearances at Stamford Bridge.
