SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of West Ham’s clash with QPR in the English Championship on Friday night.

West Ham vs QPR (Friday, 20:00)

The Championship resumes following the international break on Friday night, with West Ham United taking on London rivals QPR.

After a stuttering start to the season, the Hammers had begun to hit their stride, but they were knocked off top spot despite battling back to earn a 2-2 draw away at Millwall last time out.

As for QPR, they occupy fourth position and also come into this clash on the back of a 2-2 draw, having shared the spoils with Preston.

West Ham are heavy favourites at a general 1/2, but I'm going to turn my attention to a player-based selection.

Jarrod Bowen looks good value to hit the target at least twice at even money (1/1) with bet365.

Given that he is more than capable of playing at a higher level, the West Ham skipper’s decision to stay at the London Stadium raised eyebrows over the summer.

Bowen has scored six goals in 11 appearances across all competitions this season, including strikes in recent home wins over Wolves and Wrexham.

He is a player who likes to shoot on sight, underlined by his whopping average of 4.06 shots per game in the Championship this season.

While he is averaging 1.40 shots on target per 90 minutes, Bowen has worked the opposition goalkeeper 2+ times in four of his last five Championship outings.

That includes each of West Ham's last three home games, and there is plenty of scope for that trend to continue against QPR.

The Hoops are likely to spend long spells on the back foot on Friday night, which should give Bowen ample opportunity to get shots away.

The visitors have also failed to keep a clean sheet in six of their eight league matches this season, adding to the appeal of backing Bowen to hit the target at least twice.

  • Jarrod Bowen 2+ Shots on Target – 1/1 (bet365)
