Hibernian vs Rangers, Sunday (14:00)

The standout fixture from the latest round of Scottish Premiership action sees Hibernian and Rangers go head-to-head at Easter Road on Sunday afternoon.

David Gray’s fifth-placed side have endured a testing couple of weeks, first being knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Dunfermline and then suffering a heavy 4-1 defeat away to Falkirk.

Rangers, meanwhile, are enjoying a five-match winning streak in the Scottish Premiership, although they head to the capital on the back of a 3-1 Europa League defeat to Porto on Thursday night.

Jordan Obita To Commit 1+ Foul

For the first leg of what will be a player-based double, I’m backing Hibernian’s Jordan Obita to commit at least one foul. Obita is a tenacious operator who relishes a tackle, making him a prime candidate to get himself on the wrong side of the referee during this capital clash.

Moreover, Obita is averaging 0.90 fouls per game in the Scottish Premiership this season, and that figure has been creeping up in recent weeks. In fact, the Hibs utility man has committed at least one foul in four of his last five league outings, collecting three yellow cards in the process.

It’s difficult to predict exactly who Obita could be in a direct battle at Easter Road on Sunday, as Rangers boss Danny Rohl often tinkers with formations and lineups. However, there’s a strong chance it could be Djeidi Gassama or Mikey Moore, both of whom are adept at drawing fouls. Andreas Skov Olsen is another player who could be operating in similar areas of the pitch to that of Obita. The New Gers recruit was brought down twice on his debut last weekend.

Nicolas Raskin To Commit 1+ Foul

I'm more than happy to round off the bet builder by also including Nicolas Raskin to commit a minimum of one foul. The all-action Rangers midfielder is a player who has long been a familiar face to Scottish Premiership referees during his time at Ibrox, and this season has been no different. That is underlined by the fact that Raskin is committing an average of 1.94 fouls per 90 in the Scottish Premiership this season, being penalised at least once in 19 of his 21 appearances, including each of his previous 14. The case is further strengthened by the fact that Raskin has racked up a combined total of 3 fouls across his previous two meetings with Hibs this season.

The tough-tackling Belgian could get drawn into a fiery midfield battle with Hibs' Miguel Chaiwa, who has proven to be something of a foul magnet in the Scottish Premiership this season, earning his side an average of 3.19 free kicks per game.

This player-based double offers an even-money (1/1) shot on Coral or Ladbrokes and represents good value.
