Matchday 24 of La Liga brings us a few interesting matches, including the evening derby between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad this Saturday.
In addition to that, on Saturday, we will also see Espanyol take on Celta Vigo, Getafe host Villarreal, and Sevilla chase an important home win against Alaves.
In this article, we will provide our favourite betting tips for all four of today’s La Liga games.
Today’s La Liga betting tips & predictions
Espanyol vs Celta Vigo (1:00pm)
Both teams enter this game on bad runs, with Espanyol losing their last four matches in La Liga and failing to win in their last six, while Celta Vigo are winless in their last three league matches.
That being said, both teams are having good seasons since Espanyol are sixth in the standings, one point ahead of their next opponent. With that in mind, we can expect a close and exciting game, with little to separate the two teams.
Espanyol have won the last three H2H meetings and they will have the home-court advantage, but we feel it's better to stick to goals in this game. Both teams have scored in four of the last six meetings between Espanyol and Celta, as well as in five of the last seven Espanyol's games and four of the last five Celta's matches in all competitions.
Espanyol vs Celta Vigo top betting tip: BTTS – Yes
Getafe vs Villarreal (3:15pm)
After a tough run of four losses in a row in all competitions, Villarreal won four points in their last two La Liga matches to get back on track and keep the distance from other teams pursuing fourth place in the standings.
On the other hand, Getafe sit in the middle of the table after winning five points from the last three matches, including the win over Alaves in the last round.
Villarreal are simply the better team and they will want to secure their place in the Top 4 even further with a win here, which would be their third win in a row over Getafe.
Another interesting bet for this match is under 2.5 total goals, which we saw in seven of the last 10 meetings between Getafe and Villarreal. Furthermore, the last four Getafe's matches have all ended with fewer than three goals and this season their home matches average just 1.55 total goals per game.
Getafe vs Villarreal top betting tip: Under 2.5 total goals, Villarreal to win
Sevilla vs Alaves (5:30pm)
Although Sevilla and Alaves are currently in 14th and 15th place, respectively, they are also just three points ahead of the relegation zone, so this will be a big game for them.
Sevilla are having another disappointing season, with the relegation battle looming over their heads, but if they can beat Alaves again in La Liga, they could afford to breathe easier. That being said, Alaves beat Sevilla in Copa del Rey this season, so the hosts won't have an easy job.
Again, it's better to focus on goals here since we saw three or more goals in four of the last six meetings between these teams, with both teams scoring in five of those matches. Alaves have gone over 2.5 total goals three times in their last four games, with both teams scoring in all three of those matches.
Finally, Sevilla's matches at home this season average 2.92 goals per game and both teams have scored in their last four games in a row, three of which have also gone over 2.5 total goals.
Sevilla vs Alaves top betting tip: Over 2.5 total goals & BTTS – Yes
Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad (8:00pm)
After a poor debut as the manager of Real Madrid in a loss to Albacete in Copa del Rey, Alvaro Arbeloa seemingly got the hang of the ropes and won five of the next six matches, including four in a row in La Liga. Thanks to this, Real Madrid kept up with Barcelona and are only one point behind them in the title race.
Meanwhile, Real Sociedad are arguably the hottest team in the country since they've stayed unbeaten in 11 games in a row in La Liga and Copa del Rey, where they have a one-goal advantage over Athletic Bilbao in their semi-final tie after the first leg.
So, Real Madrid won't have an easy task on Saturday and we feel that there's plenty of value in backing the guests to avoid a loss in this game. At the very least we can expect both teams to score since we saw that happen in 11 of the last 12 games played by Real Sociedad, while Real Madrid have kept a clean sheet in just three of their last 10 games across the board.
