The Premier League roared back into life last night with a brilliant win for newcomers Brentford over an all-too-familiar lacklustre Arsenal. Today the clash between Manchester United and Leeds United should be another one worth watching.
Hopes are high that United can mount a serious title challenge but their Old Trafford opener is a potential banana skin as Marcelo Bielsa’s men can beat any side on their day.

I’ve always been a positive Wolves fans. STH for many years. Always rallied behind us when things were going wrong.
I warned fellow fans about the calls for Nuno to be dismissed last season. At times the football was uninspiring but ultimately after a major injury hit season we still finished mid-table and Nuno was subsequently dismissed and now has a bigger and better job at a bigger club. The appointment of Bruno Lage has done nothing to inspire me. Apparently his Benfica side used to play gung-ho attacking football. If you do this in the Premier League you’re going to get found out.
We’ve been completely uninspiring in pre-season. Fans were buzzing about our second half performance v Celta Vigo where we still ended up losing 1-0.
We are still relying on Raul to come back to be the player he was and with the transfer window still yet to close I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Ruben Neves or Adama Traore to move on before it slams shut. As a squad we look thin on the ground, a gripe against Nuno in previous years, preferring to work with smaller squads.
When you factor in our fixtures for the start to the season August sees us take on Leicester today, the return of Nuno and Spurs next week and Man United at Molineux to finish the month. It would be very easy to imagine a scenario where Wolves could be sitting with 0 points from the opening 3 games, just in time for the transfer window to come to a head. The tough opening fixtures present players who might be looking at moves away the opportunity to really voice their discontent and force a move.
Luckily for Wolves, September provides a better run of fixtures but by this point the heat could really be on Lage.
My prediction this season is a slow start for Wolves, I think Lage could be gone by Christmas and from then on it could really unravel badly. Add a few injuries in the mix, hostility from the fans, I think there’s some value to be had in Wolves being in that relegation mix come the end of the season.
Changing it up a little due to 1 leg of the double being postponed.
