Paris Saint-Germain play host to Paris FC on Sunday night, looking for the win that they need to keep pace with Lens at the top of the Ligue 1 table.
Luis Enrique's side begin 2026 sitting one point adrift of top spot, and there is potential for that to be extended to four points with Lens playing Toulouse on Friday.
Meanwhile, Paris FC head into the latest batch of fixtures down in 14th place, a consequence of a five-game winless streak in France's top flight.
Paris FC merged with Stade Saint-Germain to form Paris Saint-Germain in 1970. However, they became a single entity once again just two years later.
How the bookies see it: PSG to be heavily backed
Having collected 19 points from a possible 21 at Parc des Princes, it should as no surprise that bookmakers Bet365 have priced PSG as short as 2/11.
Paris FC are a massive 14/1 and the draw as high as 6/1. With the visitors having already defeated Brest and Monaco among eight points being accumulated from as many away fixtures, they are betting odds that will attract attention.
Head to head: First-ever top-flight meeting
While their grounds may stand metres apart, this will represent the first time that PSG and Paris FC have ever squared off in Ligue 1.
This will be the first competitive meeting since they played out two draws in Division 1 across the 1978-79 campaign.
Player to watch: Dembele to impress on Ligue 1 return?
Having not played a top-flight fixture since the middle of December, PSG will go as strong as possible here, and that is expected to include Ousmane Dembele.
Prior to Christmas, he contributed a goal and and an assist against Fontenay in the Coupe de France, but it should be noted that he has not played longer than 62 minutes in a single fixture since August.
Ilan Kebbal is the obvious standout name in the Paris FC squad having chipped in with six goals and four assists from 16 Ligue 1 appearances.
However, the playmaker, along with another attacking personnel, are away at the Africa Cup of Nations, and more responsibility may fall upon the shoulders of Willem Geubbels, who recently scored at Lille but has been a substitute in the last two matches.
Probable lineups:
Luis Enrique is in a position to select a PSG front three of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, one of Desire Doue or Bradley Barcola and Dembele.
Joao Neves should also feature in central midfield, but Warren Zaire-Emery will continue at right-back with Achraf Hakimi away at AFCON.
Meanwhile, Paris FC trio Kebbal, Moses Simon and Jean-Phillipe Krasso are absent due to their AFCON involvement.
Mathieu Cafaro, Thibault De Smet and Geubbels could be the three to be handed opportunities, but much may depend on whether Stephane Gilli sticks with a 4-5-1 formation.
Paris Saint-Germain: Chevalier; Zaire-Emery, Zabarnyi, Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz; Barcola, Ramos, Kvaratskhelia
Paris FC: Trapp; Traore, Mbow, Otavio, Ollila; Cafaro, Lopez, Marchetti, Camara, De Smet; Geubbels
Anything else catch the eye?
Due to AFCON, Paris FC are missing players who have contributed a combined 11 goals and eight assists in this season's Ligue 1.
PSG have only conceded three goals in seven Ligue 1 fixtures at Parc des Princes. They all came in the 3-3 draw with Strasbourg.
As many as 17 PSG players have contributed to their 35 Ligue 1 goals this season. No-player has scored more than the five netted by Neves and Barcola.
Paris FC have the joint-eighth best defensive away record this season. That is despite already facing the likes of Nice, Lens, Monaco and Lille on their travels.
