ST JAMES' PARK should host a Saturday night cracker when Newcastle United and Arsenal do battle.
The Gunners look to have tooled up to launch a real title challenge this term after just falling short last term and, of course, they have already beaten Manchester City at home.
They also had to show plenty of gutsy reserves to draw themselves level from two goals down at Chelsea to claim a point before sweeping aside Sheffield United last week with ease.
Both sides had very different conflicting fortunes in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
Arsenal suffered a painful 3-1 loss to West Ham and although it wasn't Mikel Arteta's strongest side, they still had plenty of top players in their line-up
For Newcastle, they have been hit with injuries recently, but that was forgotten about as 7,000 Geordies partied at Old Trafford after swatting Manchester United aside in a 3-0 humiliation, which must have done them a power of good.
In the league, they were held to a 2-2 draw at Wolves last week and previously lost to Borussia Dortmund somewhat surprisingly in the Champions League.
How the bookies view it
The layers have Arsenal as narrow good things here with bet365 going 8/5 on an away win, having drifted from the start of the week.
Newcastle United can be backed at 37/20 with 10Bet. The draw is 5/2 with William Hill.
Recent head to heads
Arsenal eased to a 2-0 win at St James' Park last season, but had to settle for a goalless draw at the Emirates.
Curiously, four of the last five games between the sides have ended in a 2-0 scoreline
Players to watch
England international Callum Wilson has already netted seven goals for the season for the Geordies including a double last week at Wolves. He is 23/10 to score anytime with Paddy Power.
Eddie Nketiah rattled in a hat-trick last week against Sheffield United and he is 13/5 also with Paddy Power to net again on Saturday night in Tyneside.
Anything else catch the eye?
Newcastle have won just one of the last 11 meetings between the clubs and could come up short here too. Arsenal look to have a stronger XI, especially with the outstanding Declan Rice back in the team, have less injuries than the hosts and can edge it.
Although these teams have goals in them, they rarely share them. You need to go back 11 games in this series where both teams to score came up. That would suggest a lack of goals here too and under 2.5 goals looks the call at 10/11 with Paddy Power. This looks set to be a tight encounter between two teams who are both well organised,
