Netherlands vs France

, KO: 19:45 Oct 13, 2023, Johan Cruyff Arena
France

NETHERLANDS and France face off in a heavyweight showdown in Euro 2024 qualifying at the Johan Cruyff Arena on Friday night.

It’s two-time European Champions France who are in the Group B box seat, having won each of their opening five fixtures of the campaign.

The first of those successes came via a 4-0 hammering of Holland in March’s reverse fixture in the French capital.

Therefore, Didier Deschamps and co will know that another victory here would all but stamp their ticket to next summer's showpiece.

As for the Netherlands, they have bounced back admirably from that opening night pummelling in Paris, having won each of their subsequent three group games to move into second spot in the section.

However, Ronald Koeman’s side remain locked on nine points with third-placed Greece, so the Oranje’s place at next year's Euros is by no means guaranteed as things stand.

Outright Betting

The Netherlands have lost six of their last seven meetings with France and the bookies’ odds suggest that trend will continue, with a home win trading at 11/5 (William Hill) while a point apiece has been priced up at 5/2 (Bet 365).

France are 5/4 (William Hill) favourites to earn what would be a sixth straight win in Group B.

Betting Angles

While France are fair favourites here, I'm going to bypass the 1×2 head market and instead combine France to Score, Over 1.5 Match Goals and Over 2.5 Match Cards at 5/6 with William Hill.

Not only have France scored in each of their five group games so far, but they have only failed to strike in one of their last 12 competitive contests, with the one exception coming against Tunisia in a dead rubber at last winter's World Cup.

As such, Les Bleus should land at least one blow against a Dutch side that failed to shutout a shot-shy Republic of Ireland side in their most recent qualifier.

However, Holland also pack a punch in the final third, so much so that I'm also prepared to throw Over 1.5 Goals into the mix.

Six of the duo's eight group games combined have featured a minimum of two match goals and I'm happy to side with at least two match strikes here given the wealth of attacking talent that will be on display.

Given that the two sides shared six bookings between them in the reverse fixture, I'll round off the Bet Builder with Over 2,5 Match cards in what should be a keenly contested affair in the Dutch capital.

This bet would have paid out when the pair last crossed paths and the same combination also clicked during France's recent win over the Republic of Ireland, all of which adds to the appeal of supporting the same formula in Amsterdam on Friday night.

Elsewhere, I'm also keen to back Kylian Mbappe to either score or assist at 17/20 with William Hill.

The French megastar has had direct in goal involvement in all but one of Les Bleus' five Euro 2024 qualifiers and he looks nicely priced to add to that tally on Friday night.

This match between Netherlands and France will be played on Oct 13, 2023 and kick off at 19:45. Check below for our tipsters best Netherlands vs France prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
