Motherwell will get their Europa Conference League campaign underway when they welcome HB Torshavn to Fir Park for their second qualifying round tie on Thursday night.
The Steelmen secured their place in Europe's third-tier competition after finishing fourth in the Scottish Premiership last season.
However, plenty has changed since then, with manager Jens Berthel Askou departing and a number of key players also moving on.
Alfred Johansson is now in the Motherwell hot seat and will take charge of his first competitive fixture on Thursday night.
The new Well boss will be expected to make a winning start when his side take on Faroe Islands outfit HB Torsshavn.
Runners-up to Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag last season, HB are still chasing a first Faroese top-flight title since 2020 and currently sit fifth after winning seven, drawing three and losing six of their opening 16 league matches.
How the bookies view it: Motherwell massive favourites
The bookmakers expect Motherwell to have little trouble getting past their Faroese opponents, with the Steelmen priced as heavy 1/7 favourites on bet365.
HB Torshavn are 14/1 outsiders, while the draw is available at 7/1 with the same firm.
Head to head: Not the first meeting
Somewhat surprisingly, this is not the first meeting between Motherwell and HB Torshavn, with the two sides previously facing off in the preliminary stages of the UEFA Cup back in 1994. Motherwell claimed a 3-0 victory at Fir Park before completing a 7-1 aggregate triumph with a 4-1 win in the Faroe Islands.
Players to watch: Maswanhise to make his mark?
Amid the departures from Fir Park this summer, Motherwell have managed to keep hold of Tawanda Maswanhise after he finished as the club's top goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership last season. Goalscorer markets are not currently available, but expect to see Maswanhise among the leading options if and when the bookmakers release them.
With six goals in 14 appearances across all competitions this season, Storm Bugge Pettersen is the player Motherwell will need to keep a close eye on when they face HB Torshavn.
Predicted line-ups
Several key figures from last season, including Callum Ward, Elijah Just and Elliot Watt, have moved on from Motherwell this summer. However, new recruit Dylan Williams, who joined earlier this week, could be handed his debut on Thursday night.
HB Torshavn have no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues ahead of Thursday night's first leg at Fir Park.
Motherwell: Paulsen; Sparrow, Whyte, Moormann, Ross; Vogt, Priestman, Fadinger; Said, Charles-Cook, Maswanhise
HB Torshavn: Mork; Mohr, Johannesen, Steiring, Dam; Mneney, Radosavljevic; Voss, Soylu, Sorensen; Pettersen
Anything else catch the eye?
Given the number of important players Motherwell have lost this summer, coupled with the arrival of a new manager, they may take time to find their rhythm on Thursday night.
With that in mind, a home win and under 3.5 goals could be the way to go, with that selection available at 21/20 with bet365.
Alternatively, a Motherwell win, under 4.5 goals and BTTS No is available at 20/23 with the same bookmaker. It is worth noting that HB Torshavn have failed to find the net in each of their last three European away games.
