Morocco vs Norway

, KO: 20:00 , Sports Illustrated Stadium
Norway

Morocco and Norway will wrap up their World Cup preparations on Sunday night, as they meet in New Jersey in a friendly.

Morocco qualified for their third consecutive World Cup finals and seventh overall in relative ease, as they topped their World Cup qualifying group, finishing nine points clear of nearest challengers Niger.

The Atlas Lions have since been awarded the Africa Cup of Nations crown at the turn of this year in controversial fashion, despite losing their final with Senegal on the park.

Since then, Mohamed Ouabhi has taken over from Walid Regragui, and he is unbeaten in each of his four games in charge (W3-D1-L0), including a 4-0 thrashing of Madagascar on Tuesday.

Norway ended their 28-year hiatus from the World Cup finals emphatically, as they topped their World Cup qualifying group by winning all eight of their qualifiers, including wins home and away to four-time World Champions Italy.

Since qualification, Stale Solbakken’s men have had mixed results in friendlies (W1-D1-L1), but they did win 3-1 over neighbours Sweden on Monday.

How the bookies view it: Norway favourites

Norway are favourites to back up their win over Sweden, as bet365 have priced them at 6/5 to win in New Jersey.

Morocco are 11/5 to continue their winning form, whilst the draw is 23/10.

Head to head: Another thriller on the cards?

These two nations have met just once previously and that was in the group stage of France 98, as Norway twice came from behind to draw 2-2 in Montpellier.

Players to watch: Haaland to score again?

Erling Haaland had a sensational goal-scoring record in World Cup qualifying, even for his standards, as he fired in an incredible 15 goals across those eight qualifiers.

The Manchester City frontman found the back of the net in all eight of those qualifiers – even scoring 2+ in each of the last four – and is an appealing 10/11 at bet365 to Score Anytime in New Jersey.

Norway: Nyland, Ryerson, Ajer, Heggem, Moller Wolfe, Bobb, Berge, Aursunes, Nusa, Sorloth, Haaland

Anything else catch the eye?

Friendlies are always a nightmare to predict, but there is a chance we could see goals between these two in-form nations on Sunday evening.

Norway’s matches tend to be high-scoring, with an impressive 18 of their last 23 matches going Over 2.5 Goals, including in 11 of their last 13.

Each of Morocco’s last three friendlies have also gone Over 2.5 Goals, and a repeat pays an appealing 17/20 at bet365.
