Georgia vs Greece

, KO: 17:00 Mar 26, 2024, Boris Paitchadze National Stadium
Greece

GEORGIA and Greece go up against each other in a winner-takes-all Euro 2024 playoff at the Boris Paitchadze National Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Georgians came up short during the traditional qualification phase for this summer's showpiece, however their excellent showing in the Nations League ensured they punched their ticket to the playoff round

Willy Sagnol's side have since successfully navigated their semi-final tie, defeating Luxembourg 2-0 last Thursday night.

Now seeking to seal their passage to a major tournament for the first time in their history, Georgia will look to secure what would be a famous victory against Greece.

As for former European champions Greece, they took a big step towards ending their Euros exile by comfortably dispatching Kazakhstan 5-0 in Athens last midweek.

After putting up a valiant effort against both France and the Netherlands in Euro 2024 qualification Group B, Gus Poyet's side will be quietly confident of clearing their final hurdle en-route to Germany.

Outright Betting

Despite losing just one of their last 12 home matches, Georgia are 12/5 (Bet 365) outsiders while the 90 minute draw can be backed at 21/10 (Bet 365).

Greece are 13/10 favourites on Bet 365 to get the job done inside regulation time in Tbilisi on Tuesday evening.

Betting Angles

It goes without saying that this is set to be a momentous occasion and that should contribute to a closely-fought contest between two sides who will be fired-up to qualify for Euro 2024.

As such, I'm going to bypass the 1×2 betting and instead opt for a Bet Builder by coupling both teams to receive 2+ cards and both teams to hit 3+ corners at 5/6 on  Bet 365.

Georgia's aforementioned 2-0 win over Luxembourg was a fiery affair, with a whopping 10 yellows and one red being brandished during what was an ill-tempered semi final tie.

Given that the stakes are now even higher, sparks should fly again when Georgia host a Greece side who regularly racked up cards en-route to finishing third in Group B.

In fact, Gus Poyet's side picked up two or more bookings in six of their eight group games, with the only two exceptions coming against international minnows Gibraltar.

With all that in mind, coupled with the fact that referee Szymon Marciniak is averaging almost 4.5 cards per-games this season, I'll back both teams to pick up 2+ cards each in front of what is sure to be a hostile Tbilisi  crowd.

To round off the 5/6 (Bet 365) Bet Builder, I'll also go with each team to earn a minimum of three corners during this crunch clash.

This game could end up being a bit more open than the bookmakers' anticipate so 3+ flag kicks apiece doesn't look like too much to ask in a showdown that should be a captivating watch from the first minute to the last.

This match between Georgia and Greece will be played on Mar 26, 2024 and kick off at 17:00. Check below for our tipsters best Georgia vs Greece prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
