Chelsea vs Wolves

, KO: 20:00 , Stamford Bridge
Wolves

Chelsea will be targeting back-to-back wins in the Premier League when they square off with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night.

Enzo Maresca’s side slumped to a shock 2-1 defeat when hosting Sunderland two weeks ago, but they got back on track by earning a 1-0 win away at London rivals Tottenham last weekend.

The victory across town means that the Blues will start the weekend in seventh position in the Premier League standings, just two points behind second-placed Man City.

Chelsea will come into this clash after coming from behind to claim a 2-2 draw away at Azerbaijan champions Qarabag in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

As for Wolves, they remain rooted to the foot of the Premier League table and still searching for their first league win of the season after crashing to a 3-0 defeat away at Fulham last weekend.

That latest setback prompted the Molineux hierarchy to call time on Vitor Pereira’s tenure, with James Collins and Richard Walker put in caretaker charge.

How the bookies view it: Blues to cruise to victory

It comes as little surprise to see Chelsea chalked us as short-price favourites on Saturday night, with a home win trading a 1/3 with BOYLE Sports.

Wolves are a whopping 7/1 with BOYLE Sports to land what would be their first Premier League win of the season, while the draw is also considered unlikely at 15/4 with the same firm.

Head to head: Blues looking to bag another victory

The two teams crossed paths in the EFL Cup last midweek, with Chelsea claiming a thrilling 4-3 win at Molineux. It’s also worth noting that the Blues triumphed in each of the two Premier League meetings between the pair last season.

Players to watch: Fernandez to fire?

Enzo Fernandez has been deployed in a slightly more advanced role in recent weeks, something that has coincided with him hitting the target at least once in three of his last four Premier League appearances. Therefore, the Chelsea ace looks well worthy of support to repeat the trick on Saturday night at 4/5 with Bet365.

Jorgen Strand Larsen has three goals across 11 appearances for Wolves in all competitions this season. The Norwegian forward looks nicely priced to deliver a minimum of one-target during this Stamford Bridge showdown at 10/11 with Bet365.

Predicted line-ups

After making multiple changes to his line-up on Wednesday, Chelsea chief Maresca is expected to field a full strength side on Saturday night. As was the case in midweek, Benoit Badiashile, Cole Palmer, Dario Essugo and Levi Colwill will all miss out for the hosts due to injury.

Rodrigo Gomes is not expected to feature for Wolves until early 2026 due to a groin injury, while Saturday night's trip to Stamford Bridge may come too soon for injured defender Matt Doherty. Emmanuel Agbadou is suspended after being sent off against Fulham last weekend.

Chelsea: Sanchez; Gusto, Fofana, Chalobah, Cucurella; James, Caicedo; Neto, Fernandez, Garnacho; Pedro

Wolves: Johnstone; Tchatchoua, S. Bueno, Krejci, H. Bueno; Munetsi, Andre, J. Gomes; Arias, Strand Larsen, Hwang

Anything else catch the eye?

With Chelsea unbackable at the above-mentioned odds, instead look for the hosts’ to take top honours in a game that features under 4.5 goals at 4/5 with BOYLE Sports.

This combination would have proven profitable in all bar one of the Blues’ five Premier League victories this season, including each of their last four.

What’s more, a sizeable six of Wolves’ eight top-flight losses this season have featured four match goals or fewer.
