It wasn't looking good for the Parkhead side when they banked just four points from their first four matches against Red Star, Braga, Sturm Graz and Midtjylland.

But old master Martin O'Neill has collected four further points from tough away games against Feyenoord and Bologna, either side of a rout from Roma on Wilfried Nancy's watch, to leave the Hoops in good shape to qualify.

They couldn't have asked for a kinder game to finish the campaign, with Utrecht having only pride to play for after losing six of their seven Europa League games.

The Dutch side are also in poor form domestically and head to Scotland having lost five in a row in all competitions.

So it would be a surprise if they stopped Celtic from getting the job done in front a fired-up crowd as O'Neill looks to continue his impressive run as interim boss.

How the bookies view it: Hoops hot favourites

With Utrecht on such an abject run of form, they are as big as 17/2 with Bet365 for a win in Glasgow. Celtic's best price is just 7/20 at BetMGM and the draw pays 9/2 at Betfred.

Head to head: Honours even

These teams faced off in a Europa League qualifier back in 2010 and Celtic won 2-0 at home in the first leg before a dismal 4-0 loss back in the Netherlands.

Players to watch: Maeda the middle man

Daizen Maeda played back on the left for Celtic at the weekend but should revert to centre forward for this one with new signing Tomas Cvancara ineligible. The Japanese forward always gets in good positions to score and is 6/5 at Coral for a goal.

Dani De Wit is the creative spark in Utrecht's side and has chipped in with three goals from midfield this season. He's 4/1 with Bet365 to score or assist and that looks a bit overpriced.

Probable line-ups

Celtic new boys Cvancara and Julian Araujo are ineligible while Reo Hatate is banned after his red card against Bologna. Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, Alistair Johnston, Marcelo Saracchi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Callum Osmand are set to miss out with injuries.

Victor Jensen and David Min remain out for Utrecht while striker Sebastian Haller is a doubt after missing the weekend loss to Sparta Rotterdam.

Celtic: Schmeichel, Donovan, Scales, Trusty, Tierney, McGregor, Nygren, Engels, Tounetki, Yang, Maeda.

Utrecht: Barkas, Vesterlund, Didden, Eerdhuijze, Murkin, Bozdogan, Cathline, De Wit, Engwanda, Rodriguez, Blake.

Anything else catch the eye?

Celtic will probably start at a high tempo in a bid to get the crowd fired up and backing them to be winning at half-time and full-time pays 23/25 with BetMGM.

The Hoops are usually good value for corners and over five first-half flag kicks looks good at 5/4 with Bet365.

Winger Yang Hjun-jun has been in good form for Celtic of late and scored in the draw with Hearts on Sunday. Bet365 price him at 4/1 for an assist and that could offer some value against a poor Utrecht defence.
