Borussia Monchengladbach’s resurgence continued with a third win in a row, marking their longest winning streak in the Bundesliga in five years, but can they keep up the pace when they meet one of the league’s finest, RB Leipzig?
After a troubling eight-match winless run at the start of the campaign, Borussia Monchengladbach are currently the only team to claim the full set of points across the last three Bundesliga rounds.
On paper, this is Gladbach’s best run since 2020, but the real challenges are in the future, as their performance against top teams this season includes five defeats and a draw. To continue rising, the Foals need to build on their first home win since March, but RB Leipzig will have other plans.
The Red Bulls are back where they belong – in the Top 4, and the lack of European football has helped their quest immensely. Leipzig have been almost flawless since the start of the campaign, claiming eight wins in 11 rounds to date.
Luckily for the Foals, RB Leipzig’s away form is not something to boast about, as they only won three of their six away games this season, most recently losing 3-1 to Hoffenheim.

Bookmakers took Monchengladbach’s form into consideration, but still listed them as heavy underdogs in this clash. You can currently back Borussia at 21/10, while RB Leipzig are favourites at 11/10. Bookies also priced the draw fairly high at 29/10.
Recent head-to-head: Home advantage made the difference
The recent H2Hs between the Foals and the Red Bulls have one thing in common. The trend shows that the home side won almost every time. The only away win in the last 10 H2Hs was RB’s triumph in 2023.
Eight of the last 10 were won by the designated host (D1), with Borussia claiming four wins, as opposed to RB Leipzig’s five. However, the Foals won points on both occasions last season, winning at home and drawing away.
Players to watch: Tabakovic has found his place
Borussia Monchengladbach’s latest loanee, Haris Tabakovic, has potentially earned himself a permanent transfer after this season, as his impact in the team has been unmatched. The 31-year-old Bosnian is having the form of his career, with seven Bundesliga goals in 10 appearances this season.
Moreover, he scored at least once in eight of his last nine appearances for club and country. If his teammates continue the solid work of feeding him passes, he may write his name on the scoresheet against RB Leipzig too.
