Bayer Leverkusen's lack of wins is becoming a cause for concern, and they face Bayern Munich, who are in a league of their own this season, just days before their rematch with Arsenal.
The draw in the first Champions League match against the English team was Bayer Leverkusen's fourth draw in five matches. Although the penalty that gave Arsenal the equalizer was questionable, to say the least, it is a fact.
Leverkusen's only win in recent weeks was against Hamburger, and the team has failed to score more than once in five of its last six games.
This will be crucial against Bayern Munich, who continue to score regardless of the opponent. It can be said that the Bavarians secured their place in the next round of the Champions League after a resounding 6-1 win in Bergamo, so they can calmly put more effort into this match.
Unfortunately for the hosts, Bayern have scored at least three goals in each of their last five games (19 in total).
How the bookies view it: The Bavarians to get a league double
The difference in class is obvious to everyone, but bookmakers are still offering decent odds for Bayern Munich, which is rare against most teams in the Bundesliga.
Currently, you can back Bayer Leverkusen at 9/2, while Bayern are available at 11/20. The draw is relatively highly priced at 7/2.
Recent head-to-head: Bayern Munich won the last three
There was a rare period between 2023 and early 2025 when Bayer Leverkusen did not lose to Bayern Munich in six consecutive matches in all competitions.
However, that period is long gone, with the Bavarians winning the last three meetings without conceding a goal.
Yet, it is interesting to note that Bayern have not won any of their last three visits to this stadium when it comes to Bundesliga matches.
Players to watch: Olise is extraordinary
Bayern Munich have such an incredible squad that Harry Kane's absence wasn't even noticeable against Atalanta. It's still unclear whether the Englishman will play against Leverkusen, but we're leaning towards Michael Olise anyway.
The 24-year-old Frenchman once again proved that he is among the best players in the world, scoring two goals and providing an assist against Atalanta.
His overall output now includes 15 goals and 24 assists in 36 games in all competitions, which is hard to believe.
Alternatively, Luis Diaz is an equally logical pick in every single game, with 25 goal contributions in the Bundesliga this season and 33 overall across all competitions.

Probable line-ups
Bayer Leverkusen: Blaswich, Tapsoba, Andrich, Quansah, Tape, Garcia, Palacios, Poku, Maza, Terrier, Kofane
Bayern Munich: Ulreich, Stanisic, Kim, Tah, Laimer, Kimmich, Pavlovic, Olise, Gnabry, Diaz, Kane
Anything else catch the eye?
At this point, we don't see how Bayer Leverkusen could stop Bayern, especially if Kasper Hjulmand decides to prioritize the Champions League rematch and rotate his squad.
Everything points to another sensational victory for Bayern Munich, with at least three goals expected from the visitors.
