AFC Bournemouth vs Arsenal

, KO: 17:30 Aug 20, 2022, Vitality Stadium
Arsenal

ARSENAL will be bidding to make it three Premier League victories on the bounce when they pay AFC Bournemouth a visit on Saturday evening.

After enjoying an impressive pre-season over the summer, the Gunners kicked off the new campaign with a 2-0 victory away to Crystal Palace.

Mikel Arteta's men have since followed up on that win with a 4-2 success over Leicester last Saturday, on an afternoon where my main selection landed in North London.

As a result, they maintained their 100% start to the season and it would appear that there is something of a feel-good factor about the club at the moment for the first time in a long while.

Meanwhile, newly-promoted Bournemouth returned to the top-flight with a surprise 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium a fortnight ago.

However, Scott Parker's side were unable to maintain their unbeaten start at the Etihad as they suffered a 4-0 defeat to Man City last Saturday, and they can expect another stern test of their top-flight credentials this weekend.

Outright Betting

Bournemouth are winless across their last five meetings with Arsenal and the 1×2 market suggests that trend will continue here, with a Cherries success chalked up at 15/2 (William Hill) while the draw is also deemed unlikely at 17/5 (William Hill).

Arsenal have triumphed in each of their last two visits to this venue and the same outcome on Saturday evening is a lowly 2/5 with William Hill.

Betting Angles

You won't get rich backing the visitors at the above-mentioned odds but combining over Arsenal one goal and under two Bournemouth goals will bring about a nice looking 5/6 (Bet 365) Bet Builder.

Mikel Arteta's men will be brimming with confidence and in a buoyant mood for their trip to the south coast, and they should be too strong for a Bournemouth side who were brushed aside by Man City last weekend.

What's more, Arsenal's early-season attacking play is gaining plenty of plaudits, with the Gunners firing in six goals across their opening two top-flight fixtures of the season.

It's also worth pointing out that Arsenal have scored two or more goals in seven of their last nine Premier League matches, which doesn't bode well for a Bournemouth side that are still struggling for numbers at the back.

While Scott Parker's side caught Aston Villa cold on the opening day of the season, it would be fair to say that there will be a huge step up in class here.

With this in mind, as well as the fact that the above-mentioned combination has clicked in seven of Arsenal's last nine top-flight triumphs, I'm more than happy to support the same formula at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening.

Elsewhere, I'll also dip in the anytime goalscorer market and snap up the 6/5 on offer with Bet 365 for Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus to get on the scoresheet.

The Brazilian forward has already scored two goals and provided three assists this term he looks worthy of some interest to continue his red form against the newly-promoted Cherries.
