Sheffield United will be rubbing their hands at the prospect of potentially putting the final nail in the relegation coffin of arch-rivals Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday afternoon. The Blades have scored multiple goals in each of their last six home league victories, and that trend looks set to continue against an out-of-sorts Owls side hurtling towards the second-tier trapdoor. Sheffield Wednesday have conceded two or more goals in eight of their 10 away defeats in the English Championship this season.
Following last week’s emphatic 4-1 triumph over Hearts in the Scottish Premiership, Rangers will be expected to build on that statement victory by seeing off Livingston this Sunday. Danny Rohl’s side are in the midst of a 10-match unbeaten run in the Scottish top-flight, claiming maximum points in eight of those outings and gathering real momentum at a crucial stage of the campaign. Having already beaten the league’s bottom club twice this season, the signs point firmly towards another successful afternoon for Rangers in West Lothian this weekend.
FC Midtjylland look well-placed to make it three wins in a row in the Danish Superliga when they travel to face Silkeborg on Sunday. Mike Tullberg’s side have won 12 of their 20 league games this season, including three of their last five on the road. That record doesn’t bode well for a relegation-threatened Silkeborg side who have lost four of their last five league matches, including each of their previous three.
Bet: Sheffield United Win & Over 1.5 Goals, Rangers & FC Midtjylland at 8/5 with bet365.
AC Milan can get back to winning ways by seeing off Parma in Serie A on Sunday evening. The Rossoneri were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Como in midweek, but their record at the San Siro has been largely solid this season, with just one defeat and seven wins from 12 league games.
Parma have been a tricky opponent at times this term, but their heavy 4-0 loss at Atalanta last month does not augur well ahead of this weekend’s trip to Milan.
Bet: Sheffield United Win & Over 1.5 Goals, Rangers, FC Midtjylland & AC Milan at 12/5 with bet365.
Celtic can stay hot on the heels of their Scottish Premiership title rivals Hearts and Rangers when they host Hibernian on Sunday. Despite a heavy defeat to Stuttgart in the first leg of their Europa League playoff tie on Thursday, the Hoops have been a model of consistency under Martin O’Neill this season, winning 10 of their 11 league games under his guidance. One of those victories was a 2-1 triumph over Hibernian on the road, and a similar scoreline on Sunday would hardly come as a surprise.
Bet: Sheffield United Win & Over 1.5 Goals, Rangers, FC Midtjylland, AC Milan and Celtic at 4/1 with bet365.
Freiburg’s strong home form in the Bundesliga makes them a solid bet to get the better of Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday. Julian Schuster’s side have won five of their last six top-flight games at home, including each of their previous three.
Gladbach, meanwhile, are enduring a six-game winless run in the Bundesliga, with their most recent outing ending in a 3-0 defeat away at Eintracht Frankfurt. Another fruitless effort for the struggling Foals looks likely in the Black Forest.
Bet: Sheffield United Win & Over 1.5 Goals, Rangers, FC Midtjylland, AC Milan, Celtic and Freiburg at 9/1 with bet365.
Angers look overpriced to land all three points against Lille in Ligue 1 on Sunday. The Black and Whites have punched above their weight this season and have proven to be particularly reliable at home, winning three of their last four fixtures in front of their own supporters.
The hosts will sense an opportunity against a Lille side enduring a nightmare run of form, with the visitors claiming just one win in their last 10 matches across all competitions. With Lille facing a quick turnaround following Thursday night’s 1-0 defeat to Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League, in-form Angers look well worth backing at big price.
Bet: Sheffield United Win & Over 1.5 Goals, Rangers, FC Midtjylland, AC Milan, Celtic, Freiburg and Angers at 40/1 with bet365.
