Monday’s Football Tips: FC Copenhagen start the quest to regain their Danish crown at Lyngby

SCANDINAVIA has been a happy hunting ground of late, with five of the last six Super Singles landing, and the pick of today's action sees dethroned Danish kings FC Copenhagen kick off the new campaign at Lyngby.

After winning the title in 2022 and 2023, the capital club could only finish third last term behind Brondby and champions Midtjylland.

But the campaign wasn't a total write-off as they shocked Manchester United en route to reaching the last 16 of the Champions League.

That showed Jacob Neestrup still has probably the most talented squad in Denmark so they will be desperate to bounce back and reclaim the throne.

Lyngby finished in the bottom half of the table again last term and only just avoided the drop so it would be a surprise if they upset the title favourites on day one.

You have to go back to 2017 for Lyngby's last win in this fixture, with FC Copenhagen winning eight of the next nine meetings. Both games last term saw plenty of goals so an FC Copenhagen win with over 2.5 strikes could be the shout at evens with Betfred.

Wonderkid Roony Bardghji is set to miss the start of the campaign due to injury so Neestrup will look to Mohamed Elyounoussi for inspiration. The former Celtic and Southampton winger netted 14 times last season and is 7/4 for a goal today.

GAIS v AIK Solna Top Tips

There's only one clash in Sweden's top flight today and it's a mid-table battle as GAIS host AIK Solna.

Only two points separate these sides so AIK can jump above their hosts with a win in Gothenburg.

Betfred make GAIS the favourites with home advantage but their form is poor, with two defeats and a draw in their last three outings.

AIK won 2-1 on the road at Halmstads last week so they might be worth a speculative punt at 7/4, especially as they won both meetings last term.

It's safer betting on a tight game though and the half-time draw looks good at 13/10 while under 2.5 goals also appeals at 11/10 given that bet has landed in four of the last five meetings.

Inter Turku v Gnistan Top Tips

The Finnish title race is wide open but the only clash today comes in the bottom half of the table as Gnistan chase precious points on the road at Inter Turku.

A dismal run that has seen Gnistan take just one point from their last five games has left them hovering above the drop zone.

And it's hard to see their fortunes changing against mid-table Inter Turku, who have come out of their own slump in style.

Having lost six in eight, Inter have now gone four games without defeat, racking up wins in their last three games.

They routed EIF 7-0 last time out and look worthy 3/5 favourites for this one. Backing them to be winning at half-time and full-time boosts the odds to 6/4.

Over 2.5 Inter goals also looks decent value at 2/1 given that bet has landed in their last three matches.
