Welcome back to MFT’s 10-1,000 betting challenge, where we aim for a 100x return on the original investment via a small stake betting strategy, prioritising low risk and low odds en route to a long-term target.
While this column is dedicated to high-probability tips, there is no guarantee of profit. If playing along, you should consider your own budget and confidence in the tip provided, and make your own decision whether to follow, cash out or continue at every stage. 18+, please gamble responsibly.
We will use a unit system for our stakes, allowing readers to set their own unit value that suits their own budget. For the sake of simplicity, for us, 1 unit = £1.
We will continue to transparently track our progress as far as we go on the path to 1,000, but will refresh our main tracking stake back to the starting point every time we surpass 100 units – a 10x ROI.
For the sake of consistency, all tips are placed using odds from bet365. It worth pointing out that with Bet365 we can paid out if our selection goes into a lead by two or more goals.
Bet 3 – Bosnia vs Sweden – Friday 2nd October at 19:45
Sweden have made an encouraging attacking start to their Nations League campaign, and their underlying numbers support them finding the net against Bosnia.
The Swedes have scored five goals across their opening two matches, finding the net twice against Romania before scoring three against Poland. While five goals from an average of 1.47 xG per game shows some strong finishing, their wider attacking output suggests the goals have not arrived without chances.
Sweden are averaging five shots on target and three big chances per match. Those numbers are particularly useful when looking at the safer Sweden over 0.5 team goals market rather than asking them to win the game or score multiple times.
Bosnia have defended reasonably well across their opening two fixtures, allowing an average of 0.84 xGA per game. They kept a clean sheet against Poland, but Romania found the net twice against them.
The defensive shot data also gives Sweden opportunities. Bosnia are allowing four shots on target and 1.5 big chances per game, while Sweden have already shown they are capable of turning those opportunities into goals.
There is enough in Bosnia's defensive record to make Sweden over 1.5 team goals less appealing, but the requirement here is much lower.
With Sweden scoring in both Nations League matches and consistently producing shots on target and big chances, Sweden to score at least once is the preferred selection.
- Bet: Bosnia no clean sheet
- Odds: 9/50
