Welcome back to MFT’s 10-1,000 betting challenge, where we aim for a 100x return on the original investment via a small stake betting strategy, prioritising low risk and low odds en route to a long-term target.
While this column is dedicated to high-probability tips, there is no guarantee of profit. If playing along, you should consider your own budget and confidence in the tip provided, and make your own decision whether to follow, cash out or continue at every stage. 18+, please gamble responsibly.
We will use a unit system for our stakes, allowing readers to set their own unit value that suits their own budget. For the sake of simplicity, for us, 1 unit = £1.
We will continue to transparently track our progress as far as we go on the path to 1,000, but will refresh our main tracking stake back to the starting point every time we surpass 100 units – a 10x ROI.
For the sake of consistency, all tips are placed using odds from bet365. It worth pointing out that with Bet365 we can paid out if our selection goes into a lead by two or more goals.
Sweden scored the goal we need on Friday night. They were good value for their goal with 1.05 xG, eight shots with four on target.
Bet 3 – Accrington Stanley vs Cheltenham Town – Saturday 3rd October at 15:00
Accrington and Cheltenham meet on Saturday with the early League Two numbers making Over 1.5 goals an attractive option.
The strongest argument comes from the consistency of both sides. Across their combined 16 league matches this season, 15 have produced at least two goals, a 93.8% hit rate. Accrington's 0-0 draw with Newport County is the only exception.
Accrington's eight matches have averaged 3.13 goals, with John Doolan's side scoring 11 and conceding 14. Their games have already included 2-2 draws against Colchester United and Grimsby Town, a 3-2 win over Crawley Town and a 3-2 defeat at Walsall.
Cheltenham's record is even stronger for this market. All eight league matches have produced at least two goals, with Michael Flynn's side scoring 16 and conceding 12. Their fixtures are averaging 3.50 goals, while seven of the eight have contained at least three.
There are also several routes to two goals. Cheltenham have scored in every league match and average 2.00 goals per game, while Accrington have conceded in seven of eight. At the other end, Accrington have scored in six of eight and Cheltenham have kept only one clean sheet.
The two sides have produced 53 goals across their combined 16 league matches, an average of 3.31 per game. With only one of those matches failing to reach two goals, Over 1.5 looks well supported.
