Welcome back to MFT’s 10-1,000 betting challenge, where we aim for a 100x return on the original investment via a small stake betting strategy, prioritising low risk and low odds en route to a long-term target.

While this column is dedicated to high-probability tips, there is no guarantee of profit. If playing along, you should consider your own budget and confidence in the tip provided, and make your own decision whether to follow, cash out or continue at every stage. 18+, please gamble responsibly.

We will use a unit system for our stakes, allowing readers to set their own unit value that suits their own budget. For the sake of simplicity, for us, 1 unit = £1.

We will continue to transparently track our progress as far as we go on the path to 1,000, but will refresh our main tracking stake back to the starting point every time we surpass 100 units – a 10x ROI.

For the sake of consistency, all tips are placed using odds from bet365. It worth pointing out that with Bet365 we can paid out if our selection goes into a lead by two or more goals.

Arsenal beat Villa on Monday night and won four corners meaning that Bet 19 was a winner.  Our full total now stands at 611.93. As per our own rules we reset the betting balance back to 100 units on Bet17.

Bet 20 – Cheltenham vs York City – Tuesday 1st September at 7:45m

Twenty goals across Cheltenham and York's opening six league appearances provide support for over 1.5 goals when they meet. Both teams have scored in every match, neither has kept a clean sheet and five of those six fixtures produced at least three goals.

The underlying figures strengthen the argument. York have generated 5.56 xG while allowing 4.02 xGA. Cheltenham have created 2.63 xG and conceded chances worth 5.19 xGA. Five of the six matches featured more than 2.50 combined xG, showing regular opportunities alongside the goals.

York's attacking production has been consistent. They created five big chances against Bristol Rovers, three at Rotherham and two against Exeter, recording 18 shots on target overall. Their only away performance returned 2.19 xG, enough to suggest they pose a scoring threat here.

Cheltenham have outperformed their attacking numbers, scoring five goals, but have registered at least four shots on target in every game. Their first home appearance also exposed defensive weaknesses, with Rotherham producing 19 attempts and 2.43 xG.

The selection does not require both teams to score. York offer a route to two goals themselves, while Cheltenham's scoring record provides another way for the match to clear the line. Over 1.5 match goals is the selection.
