Watford and West Ham shared two goals on Saturday, so Bet 17 won and we now sit at 409.64. As per our own rules we reset the betting balance back to 100 units on Bet17.
Bet 18 – Chelsea vs Brighton – Sunday 30th August at 2pm
At least two goals looks a strong selection when Chelsea host Brighton, with the opening-weekend data, last season’s venue records and recent meetings all supporting the same outcome.
Chelsea began with a 3-2 win at Fulham, generating 1.92 xG from 18 shots. Six attempts were on target, 13 came from inside the penalty area and they created four big chances. Their defence also gave Fulham opportunities, allowing 1.51 xGA, six shots on target and two big chances.
Brighton were even more impressive in their 4-0 win over Aston Villa. They recorded 3.19 xG from 21 shots, with six on target, 15 inside the box and six big chances. Villa were restricted to 0.33 xG, but Brighton now face a Chelsea side that scored three times in its opener.
The teams produced 5.11 xG, 39 shots, 12 shots on target and 10 big chances between them in their first matches. Last season, at least two goals were scored in 84% of Chelsea’s home fixtures and 79% of Brighton’s away games.
Recent meetings strengthen the case further. Each of the last seven league encounters produced at least three goals, including Brighton’s 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge and 3-0 home victory last season.
Both attacks started the campaign well, while Chelsea’s defensive performance at Fulham left room for Brighton to contribute. Two goals represents a low line given the chances created by both teams.
