Welcome back to MFT’s 10-1,000 betting challenge, where we aim for a 100x return on the original investment via a small stake betting strategy, prioritising low risk and low odds en route to a long-term target.

While this column is dedicated to high-probability tips, there is no guarantee of profit. If playing along, you should consider your own budget and confidence in the tip provided, and make your own decision whether to follow, cash out or continue at every stage. 18+, please gamble responsibly.

We will use a unit system for our stakes, allowing readers to set their own unit value that suits their own budget. For the sake of simplicity, for us, 1 unit = £1.

We will continue to transparently track our progress as far as we go on the path to 1,000, but will refresh our main tracking stake back to the starting point every time we surpass 100 units – a 10x ROI.

For the sake of consistency, all tips are placed using odds from bet365. It worth pointing out that with Bet365 we can paid out if our selection goes into a lead by two or more goals.

Another refund as yesterday's match only produced the two goals. However, it keeps the bet going and I have found another angle to attack from tonight's Welsh derby.

Bet 11 – Cardiff City vs Wrexham – Monday 17th August at 8pm

Cardiff’s first home game back in the Championship brings a Welsh derby against Wrexham, with the two clubs meeting in the league for the first time in 24 years. A big crowd and the Sky cameras add to the occasion, while the data points towards a competitive game with cards and plenty of corners.

Wrexham received at least one card in 19 of their 23 away Championship matches last season, an 82.6% hit rate, while averaging 1.87 cards per game. Cardiff’s opponents were also carded in 19 of 23 matches at the Cardiff City Stadium, producing the same 82.6% record.

Referee Andy Kitchen strengthens the angle further, having shown at least one card to the away team in 25 of his last 26 Championship appointments, a 96.2% hit rate.

The corner numbers are equally strong. Cardiff’s home matches produced at least six corners in 22 of 23 games last season, with the Bluebirds averaging 6.48 and their opponents 3.87. Wrexham’s away fixtures cleared the same line in 21 of 23, as they averaged 3.74 corners and conceded 6.22.

Those figures align closely with Cardiff’s home record, giving the corners and away-team card combination a strong statistical base.

  • Bet: Wrexham over 0 cards & over 5 match corners
  • Odds: 1/5
  • 100.32 units returns 120.38
