The new Ligue 1 season is heating up, and as things stand, PSG are not cruising towards a fifth straight league title.
Lens and Marseille are currently keeping pace with the European champions, but how sustainable is a title charge for either side?
Here, we take a look at how the Ligue 1 top goalscorer race is shaping up, with last season's winner, Ousmane Dembele, lagging behind due to injury.
Best Ligue 1 top scorer odds
Mason Greenwood (13/8)
Greenwood finished level with Dembele at the top of the Ligue 1 goalscorer charts in 2024-25, which makes him a likely candidate to challenge the Ballon d'Or winner this season. In the 2025-26 campaign, Greenwood has performed well, scoring ten goals in 12 matches.
Joaquin Panichelli (10/3)
Joaquin Panichelli is having the season of his life at Stasbourg and is currently just one goal behind Greenwood in the race for the Golden Boot. The Argentinian has been a revelation after only signing for the club in the summer, but if he keeps his current form up, then he could move on to a bigger club in the summer.
Bradley Barcola (6/1)
Bradley Barcola is currently on only five goals for the season, but he is still considered the third-favourite to end the campaign as the league's top scorer.
Given that his club and international teammate, Ousmane Dembele, is currently injured, Barcola's odds may come in even more should he continue his fine form.
Ousmane Dembele (9/1)
With 21 goals from his 29 appearances in France's top flight last season, Dembele was the pre-season favourite to win the award again this season.
Interestingly, Dembele is currently out injured after going down on international duty with France in September and the longer he is out for, the longer his odds will become.
Our Ligue 1 top scorer prediction
As it stands, it would still come as a real surprise if the joint 2024-25 winner, Greenwood, is not at the top of the list. The Marseille attacker has found a new level of consistency to his game this season and is the go-to man at the club.
