According to the trainer, Stick With Me Sam was withdrawn due to ‘unsuitable ground'. That left us with one runner on Tuesday, which was a shocking performance.

Touching on Stick With Me Sam, he runs tomorrow at Warwick in the 3.40 pm race. The ground is going to be soft again, and I think he'll run.

I don't think the ground was an excuse on Tuesday, but I think this race looks tougher than the one at Kelso he has just avoided. For that reason, I'm leaving him alone, but he'll definitely go on and win now I've made my decision.

Star Of Diamonds put in a stinking display of jumping on chasing debut. For a horse who had PTP experience, it was like he had not seen a fence in his life.

He was slow and intimidated when approaching the fences, and then was far too safe when jumping them. Maybe the stable form was a pointer to stay clear.

Wal Buck's 5/2 (1pt) – Hexham 2.26

The safe option for this four-mile handicap chase would be to opt for one of the horses guaranteed to stay the trip. Either Betterforeveryone, or Shighness would be the easy option. Unfortunately, that's not something I do, and I believe the step up in trip could be the making of Wal Buck's.

This horse has always been on my radar. He has always looked like a staying chaser, but apparently, three miles and slightly further isn't enough for him.

I fully understand the decision to go for this four-mile race, as he is a very slow horse, but does stay very well over the shorter trips.

I am always more than happy to chance an unexposed horse over a trip, as if it does work out, he could be the best handicapped horse in the race. You're taking quite short odds to back him, but it's not a fantastic race.

No Walkover 11/8 (1pt) – Hexham 3.31

It's not a surprise to see the early price of 6/1 evaporate on No Walkover for the final race at Hexham.

David Pipe has always been a very strong trainer in bumper races, and seeing him send a runner all the way up to Hexham oozes confidence.

David has a very solid strike rate at this track, reading at 26%, but this is his first bumper runner at the track.

No Walkover will have to be above average in this field, as the other joint favourite has shown a good level of form since their win a couple of months ago.

However, the long distance for one horse at the track for both jockey and trainer is always eye-catching, and something I'm a sucker for. His pedigree suggests he will have plenty of speed, and despite not knowing much about him, I think he will probably win.

    KEMPTON -5.40…Silver Peak 6/1 Bet365

Bbest horse in the race but never raced on surface so in Appleby Emily trust as he’s not the worst trainer. He done this with varying results but at the price I’ll trust he’s not just having a go for a laugh.
