The last week has been much more like it should be, and that's probably due to the jumps season getting into full flow.

I've always favoured jumps racing and felt more comfortable picking winners out during these months, so going back-to-back with 2/2 selections on Sunday and Monday was lovely to see.

Siam Park put in a brilliant jumping performance at Plumpton from the front. The two fences in the home straight were removed, and that made me a little worried as his jumping was his best asset. Despite that, he showed a tremendous turn of foot to run away with it.

Kamaxos, for the most part, put in a jumping masterclass. Apart from two from home when he walked through the hurdle. The runner-up was travelling nicely, but Kamaxos battled hard to win on the line.

Stick With Me Sam 6/1 (1pt) – Kelso 2.55

This is a tricky race, as we have a top weight making his handicap debut on his chasing debut. He could be ahead of his mark, and this is a betting angle I like to follow. The same can be said about Classical Sting, who makes a long trip from the Laura Morgan stable.

Also, you have Trac, who is on a good handicap mark and is in good form. Ballyfort and Treaty Boy are in good form, with all three running against each other at this track a month ago.

Stick With Me Sam looked worth chancing for Tom Gretton. Tom isn't a prolific trainer, but he knows how to land a gamble. I'm not saying there's going to be lumps of cash on my selection, but he doesn't send horses this far, unless they have a real chance.

He is 1/2 at this track, with the only loser finishing in second spot. This is his only runner of the day, and the same comments apply to Robbie Dunne in the saddle.

This horse is yet to win a race in his career, but he has shown ability, and if he can put it all together after a wind-op and a summer break, I think he could get his first win.

Star Of Diamonds 9/2 (1pt) – Lingfield 2.45

The dip in form of the Emma Lavelle yard might be enough to put people off from backing Star Of Diamonds, but it was going to happen at some stage.

Emma started off the new season in fantastic style, as well as getting plenty of winners on the flat. Trying to maintain that level of winners was always going to be a tough task, so it doesn't put me off in the slightest.

Knowing that she has been getting horses to fire first time out is more than enough to give Star Of Diamonds a chance on his chasing debut.

As I mentioned in the above tip, I love backing horses on chasing debut mixed in with their handicap debut. When this happens, a lot of the time, the horses are very well handicapped.

We've seen a glimpse of ability from his hurdling runs so far. His run on debut was his best effort; the other two weren't as good. However, focusing on his PTP form is probably best.

He has finished behind some good horses and plenty of winners over hurdles and fences. That is enough to give him a chance off an opening mark of 108 and odds of 9/2.
