Sunday's Lucky 15 bet will be advised as an each-way bet due to the prices of my selections.
Kilmac Air 13/2 – Hamilton 3.00
This is bottom of the barrel stuff, but I thought Kilmac Air was worth a chance and at an attractive price.
These low-class 6 races can throw up wacky results at the best of times. Your market favourite is the only horse arriving here on the back of a win, but does he warrant being as short as 15/8? Probably not, and I think you can take him on.
Hamilton is running soft, and I think finding a horse who will handle the conditions is important.
Kilmac Air is still a maiden but wasn’t beaten far at Catterick last time out when the ground was running good to soft. The drop back to 5f looks an interesting move given he’s raced mainly over 6/7f. Jason Hart is strong in the saddle, and if he can break well, I think Kilmac Air can run close at a good price.
Iris Dancer 14/1 – Hamilton 3.30
My second selection for Sunday's Lucky 15 bet is a bit of a long shot in the shape of Iris Dancer.
Iris Dancer has good form around these neck of the woods but has completely gone off the boil, which is reflected in the 14/1 price.
Iris Dancer has won this particular race not once but twice in 2022 and 2023, and arrives here 3lb lower for his C&D win back in July. Iris Dancer will have to find a spark from somewhere, but we see horses go off the boil and bounce back and at 14/1, I think he’s worth a chance to do just that.
Military Leader 13/2 – Hamilton 4.00
This is a wide-open contest, but I thought the consistent Military Leader was worth a bet in this race.
My selection has been kept busy over the summer but has been a model of consistency with recent form figures of 322212. He returned after a short break with a good second at Haydock in a Class 4 on soft going at the start of this month.
Krissy was another one I was interested in at the prices. He too arrives in good form on the back of two runner-up efforts. He handles soft ground and has a handy 5lb claimer on board in Rhys Elliot.
Farabove The Limit 8/1 – Hamilton 5.00
My final selection for today’s Lucky 15 bet is the Philip Mackin trained Farabove The Limit.
There were quite a few I liked in this field, and I think you can make claims for quite a few, but Farabove The Limit was the horse I finally decided on.
My selection arrives here on the back of a win at Carlisle last month in a Class 6 handicap. That particular contest was over 1m3f, and this represents a step up in trip for my selection. I think the step up in trip will be no issue for Farabove The Limit, and if anything, that could bring out a little improvement for him if going by how he finished his last race.
