The DRF is very competitive at the best of times, so that you can make plenty of claims for many horses running in each race. I've opted to go down the each-way route on Saturday.

Santo Spier 5/1 – Leopardstown 1.15

I really liked the look of the favourite in this race, and Doctor Steinburg looks a smart sort going forward for the Willie Mullins team.

With that said, I also think Gordon Elliot's Santo Sospir is an exciting type going forward. He arrives here in search of a hat trick and has realished the recent step up in trip. The testing ground conditions won't be an issue for Santo Spier and with Sean Bowen booked for the ride, I am expecting a big run.

Staffordshire Knot 16/1 – Leopardstown 14.25

Testing ground will find a lot of these out, but one horse who loves deep ground is Staffordshire Knot. My selection has to concede a lot of weight, which is never ideal, but Carl Millar, who won on this horse last time out, takes off a handy 5lb. He ran a blinder only 9 days ago at Gowran Park when finishing a clear second behind the 159-rated Home By The Lee. My selection was only beaten by half a length that day, and a repeat performance, I think, would see him outrun his odds of 16/1.

Spindleberry 15/2 – Leopardstown 15.30

It's hard to look past GDC and Gaelic Warrior for this race, but when it came to looking for an eachway angle, Spindleberry was the obvious one for me.

My selection has gone from strength to strength over the larger obstacles and is now a perfect 5 from 5. This will require a career best, of course, and he probably needs one or two towards the head of the market to have an off day, but it happens in this game, and at 15/2 he looks to have a good chance of hitting the frame if continuing in his current form.

Bertutea 14/1 – Leopardstown 13.50

An interesting little race, but I've again gone down the route of a horse who has recently shown the ability to handle testing conditions. I thought Gordon Elliott's Bertutea was potentially overpriced at 14/1 for this race under jockey Sean O'Keeffe. Jack Kennedy has chosen Mange Tout for this race over my selection, but it is no surprise given she is three form three and has already gotten the better of the current market leader Narciso Has when the pair met at Fairyhouse back In November. A lot of these are still a work in process and I just thought Bertutea was worth a punt at the prices.
