Since returning four days or so ago it has been a bit slow, so it was very nice to get a decent-priced winner with Carefully Selected in the Grade A chase at Gowran Park.
I was fairly certain that he didn't win when I saw the still image in the photo finish, but the judge gave it our way and that's all that matters. Willie Mullins has done a great job with him to get him to win this type of race at the age of 11 and after such a huge layoff before his previous run.

I can see why people will be attracted into backing Jeremeys Flame, coming over from Ireland, won a Grade 3 earlier this year and has always been a very good Mare, but for me, ZAMBELLA is safe as houses to back and you know what you'll get every single time she runs.
Zambella is a lovely Mare who would be a dream horse to own. She probably isn't quite up to Grade 1 level, but anything around Listed level she will mop up and grab the win most times, as her seven wins at Class 1 Listed level would suggest. It's crazy to think that she is still only an 8yo as it seems like she has been running in races like this for many years, but it seems like she could still be progressing. Her runs this year have been excellent to watch, even the race where she finished as runner-up it was a fantastic effort over a trip clearly too far for her.
Her most recent run at Doncaster was deemed to be a career-best by the Racing Post, and I can agree with that as she didn't put a foot wrong, and won in an easy fashion, producing an RPR of 150. The time before at Carlisle, she won by 14L and the time before that she looked like the most likeliest winner over 3m at Market Rasen but was simply outstayed by Fantastic Lady who was tipped up on that day.
I feel like The Irish horse is the main threat, but I'm glad Gavin Cromwell has decided to send her over as it means we can get a decent price on Zambella!
