Cairnzy offered to do the racing on Wednesday, and he delivered with a 4/1 winner.

I didn't get the time to watch any racing on Wednesday, but he hit the crossbar with Wen Moon who finished third.

Wayne Lordan continued his good season with a 4/1 winner on Aix La Chapelle. He'll be looking forward to Epsom, as he might be able to pick up a solid ride in the Derby.

Eternal Force 6/4 (2pt) – Hamilton 3.51

I tipped up Eternal Force for the Lincoln at the start of the year, but I can't remember which thread it was put in. Either way, he ran well to finish seventh. We haven't seen him since then, and I'm putting that down to the warm weather and ground which is too quick for him.

It looks like William Haggas and connections of Eternal Force have got lucky with the recent downpour hitting the UK over the last couple of days. Hamilton is expecting a fair few millimeters of rain in the morning of raceday, and that should see the ground turn to good to soft. His best form has come on good to soft, so it looks like great timing.

This is the only runner for Haggas and Tom Marquand at Hamilton, and since Tom picks and choses the long distance runners for this yard, it's an indicator of a big run.

This isn't a straight forward win, as he is running against some hardy handicappers and some unexposed horses, like the Jim Goldie horse who ran well last time out. However, Eternal Force hails from a powerhouse of flat racing, and was progressing at a nice rate at the back end of last season, so I'd expect him to have more in the tank.

Tom Marquand's record at Hamilton isn't the strongest, but William Haggas' is much better. William has recorded a 38% strike rate at this course in the last five years. That has seen him get 11 winners from 29 runners, with a further 13 who have been placed in second or third spot.

The only horse that I am concerned about is Altareq, but I wouldn't be too concerned. That horse made a promising start to life at Jim's yard, but that was over further, and his form has been over longer trips. He stayed on well at York, so I can't imagine the drop in trip will be what he wants at this stage of his career.
